With the new format thats not a bad idea though. Just like in college, you defer so you know what you need. The Jets just scored a TD, had they just kicked a FG the Pats know it's 4 downs to move the chains.
You score a TD in the first possession of OT and the game is over. Huge mistake by Pats.

You never play so you DON'T get a shot at getting the ball. Other team scores a TD and the game is a wrap and you never touch the ball at all. Terrible mistake. Dude fucked up and realized it too late.
