What's up fam. My wife and I are thinking about starting a freight brokering business. We are wondering if anyone has any experience with this kind of biz, or if there is anyone who can stear me in the right direction to get started. I thank you all in advance for any possible info you can share.

Study to get your frieght broker's license. Is this a business that you're already in, i.e., working for freight forwarder, or is this just something that you believe you can make good money doing?

No actually, I have a cousin who is a trucking authority and he has been trying to get us involved but we wanted to find out everything we can before we get involved. All he speaks about is how much money there is to make IF we put in the phone calls and the internet searches. He never says anything bad, and I know there is a down side to it. Just want to be able to make an education decision.

I'm not hatin, but it's a tough business to make work. A buddy of mine jumped in it a while ago and punched out 100 calls a day,for a year, with no success. My boy was saying that the retailers squeeze the freight companies. That, paired with what you pay the drivers would shrink the bottom line for everybody. My two cents. Good luck.

This is a difficult business to break into. The competition is very deep. Everything from finding reliable truckers to warehousing to insurance will cost. The overhead for this startup is large.
