UPDATE: FANTASTIC FOUR Rumored To Be Back With Marvel; First Movie In 2020
125944.jpg

Yesterday's announcement that Fox had struck a deal with Marvel that allowed them to produce two TV shows led to many wondering what the latter got in return. Well, we may just have found out! UPDATE: Silver Surfer, Galactus, Doctor Doom included in deal...

Could we finally see the Fantastic Four back under the Marvel Studios umbrella? That's what Den Of Geek is reporting, anyway. According to them the deal is done, and in exchange for Fox being allowed to develop theLegion and Hellfire TV shows, Mr. Fantastic, Invisible Woman, The Thing, The Human Torch - and presumably all characters associated with them - will return home.

This probably isn't that surprising given the critical and commercial disaster that Josh Trank's recent reboot became - but Fox did seem adamant that they were going ahead with a sequel, so perhaps they were just trying to throw people off the scent. DOG reckon this deal has been in the works for a while now.

Oh, and remember those mystery 2020 Marvel movies that were announced along with the Ant-Man and The Wasp news? ApparentlyFantastic Four will be one of 'em.

This is only being reported as a rumor for the time being, but it does make a lot of sense. We'll update if and when any more information comes our way.

UPDATE: "Having asked for some clarification from our source, we understand that the deal Marvel have made with Fox - which will see Fantastic Four returned to the Marvel fold in exchange for the X-Men TV rights - also includes the rights to villains Galactus and Doctor Doom, as well as the Silver Surfer."

Do we really have to wait that long to be underwhelmed? :fuckyousay:
I'm mainly happy cuz now Marvel can use Silver Surfer and Galactus in their movies. I would really love to see the Annihilation storyline used for a movie as the comics had significant roles played by them along with Thanos, Nova, and the Guardians of the Galaxy. Marvel's galactic universe is very underrated.

wonder if they can be used immediately in the avengers/thanos movie

calm down this is a very old rumor / hoax - its not real ---- yet

I don't know how many time that I said this.. Disney/Marvel plays hardball like no other.. I knew that Fox would have to give up something to get the X-me movie rights.. and Galactus/Silver surfer are a major part of the Infinity Series....

no ban - its a old rumor on a very old page

Ok...but we gotta make sure that there are CERTAIN posts that must be CONFIRMED FIRST...

Marvel FOX is one of the FEW bannable posts we need to agree on...

including

Tarji P Henson sextape
Ralph Lauren 90% off promo code
NFL Red Zone free season passes
KD goes to Golden State...wait oh sorry my bad.

all in agreement say AYE!

Yeah I was thinking FOX murdered what years ago Marvel created. Marvel will probably need to reboot everything FOX touched. Marvel needs to maintain control of everything Marvel.

This is a mere rumor. Deal can't go down like that anyway.
Fox can't trade FF rights for additional X-Men rights.
Fox holds the rights for X-Men.
Constantin Films holds the rights for Fantastic 4.
Fox handles distribution and financing for the FF movies on behalf of Constantin.
They don't actually call the shots.

Unless Disney/Marvel is willing to write out a really, really, fat-ass check for the FF rights, Constantin will make more money by releasing another piece of shit FF movie every 8 years.

Now what they COULD do and probably SHOULD do is fold the FF into the X-Men cinematic universe.

My bad y'all. I saw the link on my Facebook timeline and jumped the gun. Still hoping this will become a reality though.

....where there is smoke...

I think that this will happen eventually...and it will gain even more traction once the new spiderman drops.
There is just too much money to be made out there.

Marvel, Fox Collaborate For ‘Fantastic Four’ And ‘X-Men Universe?

Fantastic-Four-750x278.png

Marvel plans to announce its new partnership with FOX for ‘Fantastic Four.’ Rumors claim that it is going to be similar with what they had with Sony for the Spider-Man movie rights. The speculations made a number of fans happy. After all, some of the greatest stories happen when superheroes join forces to be a super team.

Aside from the alleged collaboration for ‘Fantastic Four,’ it has been reported that the ‘X-Men universe’ will be a co-production between 20th Century Fox Television and Marvel Television. It looks like Fox wants to do the Marvel series again one year after axing the series ‘Hellfire’ before it started.

The network confirmed all the speculations this week. Its team up with Marvel Television has been mentioned which is anticipated to be a successful show as early as now.

Lauren Shuler Donner, Bryan Singer, Simon Kinberg, Jeph Loeb, Jim Chor and Matt Nix are the show’s executive producers. Burn Notice, on the other hand, was the one in charge of writing.

With this newest project, Fox becomes the second network to broadcast Marvelcontent, following ABC, while also in the process of improving its superhero universe that it is comprised of Gotham, a DC Comics property.

According to David Madden, Fox’s head of entertainment, one of their top priorities right now is to develop content with Marvel.

This was backed up by the network’s head of creative matters for 20th Century Fox, Jonathan Davies, revealing that for Michael Thorn, Fox’s chief of development, having the chance to collaborate with Marvel is one of his greatest professional dreams.

The project that both Fox and Marvel will be working with will tell a story of a couple whose children possess extraordinary powers. Whey they have found out, they were required to run away from a hostile government to join a secret network of mutants that are struggling for survival.
