Fasttrack to the story... during gameplay, the defensive player came off the player he was guard and gave a swift kick to said player. Whether he was targeted is being debated but the skate blade caught him in the neck, slit his throat and he bled out by the time he reached the hospital. I believe the defensive player is Black too, so you already know how this is going to go.

He didn't do that on purpose. I'm surprised this doesn't happen more often. Those blades are as sharp as knives on the bottom of players feet. The league has talked about a potential neck protector.

I don't think he meant to slice open his neck but he did target him with that leg. He came off his man to go directly for him.
