American Idol people tour together all the time and she cant get on that gig? how bout commercials? just being a winner should have gotten her a million or 2 in endorcements and gigs. Its something behind the deal with this cause on face value this cant be all there is. Because record companies don't give you $250, 000. They loan it to you to cover recording costs and living expenses while you make the album. Once the album gets released they keep your portion of the profits until it is all paid back.
In her case the album never even came out. So now she's in the same position as a student who took out a medical school loan but got expelled before they could get their degree.
The studios, musicians, producers, manager, attorney, and everyone else on the team got paid free and clear off that money. Meanwhile she can't even work in the industry until her contract expires.
I'm a little surprised they didn't send somebody over to snatch the money out of her shoe box.

Let me not get into holiday season like thanksgiving, Xmas, new yrs when people are extra generous.. hell july 4 be money to.. my boy was getting that bread back in 2000 in between gigs

the way that it actually works is.........you get $125k up front................then another $125k when you finish the album.
They will give you a $300k advance on the album, but you have to pay back the advance, as well as 50% of marketing costs,....and also pay for managers and lawyers.
A mufucka can actually be broke by the time a dollar is being put in their hands and don't even know it.
So if she never completed an album.....thats $125k she didnt receive......as well as have to pay back any advance she was given.
Which explains why her ass is back singing on the train. She's probably in debt from simply winning the contest......and that is really fucked up.
That's foul, and also there's gotta be other former winner contestants that went through the same thing.
