"Well, I can understand the theory of wanting to free people,"
Ford said, referring to Bush's assertion that the United States
has a "duty to free people." But the former president said he was
skeptical "whether you can detach that from the obligation number
one, of what's in our national interest." He added: "And I just don't
think we should go hellfire damnation around the globe freeing people,
unless it is directly related to our own national security."

Shows why it is important to vote...A different person would have not taken us into the Middle East, a powder keg ready to explode. They are still stoning people in those countries.

The war is over, we are just nation building in Iraq-police activity. The conservative hate host tried to make it seem as if democrats will cause us to lose a war. Bush was right, the mission was accomplished, just didn't articulate it well with the media or doesn't want to say it is nation building now.

Tried to say it wasn't about oil since Canada & Mexico provide most our imports. But the price we pay those countries are based on world market prices. If we only paid them $10 a barrel and they can get $60 on the market, than we wouldn't get any oil. So it matters what happens in the Middle East since they export alot of oil to the world market. Now the situation is worse with Saddam gone since Iran will be able control more of the oil market. All Iran has to do is talk about wiping Israel off the face of the earth and gasoline prices jumps to $3.
