After a Twitter and Instagram exchange that resulted in his latest show “Man Finds Food” being put on hold, Adam Richman has apologized for saying some unsavory things to his critics on social media.

In a statement to ABC News, Richman said he is sorry for his "inexcusable remarks."

"I've long struggled with my body image and have worked very hard to achieve a healthy weight," Richman said.

Richman's rough comments started after he put his 70-pound weight loss on display for the latest issue of Cosmopolitan UK, then Instagrammed a picture of his new body with the hashtag "thinspiration."

This hashtag didn't go over so well with readers. The word can often be associated with anorexia and commentors took to social media to let the "Man V. Food" star know it.

He fired back with his own remarks -- including one regrettable comment: "Grab a razor blade and draw a bath. I doubt anyone will miss you."

He also commented on another user's Instagram post with the term "DILLIGAF," meaning "Does it look like I give a f***" after she had made a comment.

For that comment and others that might have offended anyone, Richman added in his statement, "I'm incredibly sorry to everyone I've hurt."

The Travel Channel did not respond to a request for comment.

"Man Finds Food," which was supposed to air on Wednesday, has been postponed.

Travel Channel pulls Adam Richman's 'Man Finds Food' show after Instagram rant goes viral

The Travel Channel show was postponed from Wednesday's launch after Richman encouraged one woman to commit suicide while calling others degrading names after they objected to his using a term used by people with eating disorders. The TV host has lost 70 pounds after years hosting 'Man V. Food.'

For this TV host, it’s more like “Man V. The World.”

Food-centric Travel Channel personality Adam Richman has had his latest show, set to premiere Wednesday, postponed after a vile rant online in which he encouraged one woman to commit suicide, calling another a “c---” and telling a third user to “eat a bag of s---.”

The Brooklyn-born foodie started the brouhaha after he posted a photo of himself in a large suit he had ordered a year before he trimmed down some 70 pounds, along with the hashtag “thinspiration.”

‘Adipose Activist’ Amber Sarah blogged about Richman’s Instagram interactions and spread his comments online.

Richman spent years as the host of “Man v. Food,” a job which required him to eat “72-ounce steaks, shakes by the quart” and other massive quantities of food, he wrote in Men’s Health.

He resolved to lose weight after the show ended and bragged online by posting the suit picture. But Internet users, including “adipose activist” Amber Sarah, told Richman that “thinspiration” is a term used by people with eating disorders, who use the word to consider what they eat and do as they try to lose weight in unhealthy ways.

The vile rant went viral and ended with Richman apologizing.

He responded to the first comment with, “DILLIGAF?” an acronym that ends with a four-letter curse word.

It only got worse.

“Give me a f------ break,” he wrote to one user. “If anyone acts like a c--- I’ll call them one. It’s not misogyny, it’s calling a spade a spade.”

To another, he wrote: “Seriously - grab a razor blade & draw a bath. I doubt anyone will miss you.”

“Oh eat a bag of s---, dummy,” he wrote a third. “No apology is coming … Only f---up it seems was your Dad’s choice to go without a condom.”

The Travel Channel confirmed to the Washington Post that the premiere of Richman’s new show, “Man Finds Food” has been postponed. And Richman eventually did apologize, saying in a statement: “I’ve long struggled with my body image and have worked hard to achieve a healthy weight. I’m incredibly sorry to everyone I’ve hurt.”

Who wouldn't want that nut job to commit suicide? He may have been ranting, but be honest.......most of us were cheering him on because we are so damn tired of people trying to cause trouble or thin skinned or offended by small thing. I know he's in the public eye and has to apologize......but I hope it is the fakest damn apology ever. Anything more is not needed.

I agree Adam....I was thinking the same thing. Some bleeding heart always whining on the boards over the most innocuous of things.
