Food: WTF?!? ALDI Thanksgiving Dinner for only $40??

Not low quality! We shop there all the time. They have shit some other stores don't have. For a minute, we were buying a loaf of bread for 99 cents. Still less than $2 a loaf. Why would a store sell low quality food? They wouldn't be open very long. We also have a Lidl in town. Good shit in there. A full Thanksgiving meal for $40? That's great. Not everyone can afford to have Thanksgiving.

We also used to shop at Lidl.

This is what I wanted to know. The prices are unbelievable. I thought Trader Joe's was a bargain. But they are selling NAME BRANDS at low prices. How are they able to do that?

Their business model is no frills: Low overhead so they can keep prices low.
25 cents to rent a cart = no shopping cart kid
No shelves and use the box for display.
Lower employee count.
All that is saving consumer's money.

Not all Aldi's charge for carts. The one by my house doesn't. It's just a way to keep the carts in the store. Shit, we bought one of their 99 cent bags and put our shit in there. Take it out at the register, pay for it and put it all back in the bag. Never need a cart in that store since I don't buy a lot of shit there.

damn

But @younggiftedandblack also said the stuff is low quality"

What is their strategy??

Nah, not low quality at all. Aldi and Trader Joe's are Sister (more like Brother) Stores. Similar to Puma and Adidas.

Some of their products are actually better quality. And since they're a "no frills" chain (no loyalty rewards, reduced staff, no fancy displays or shelving priority, they pass the savings on to the customers.

Also, they actually are a good employer (non-union). When a new one opened up about 10 yrs+ years ago, the starting wage was $15/hr, when most barely paid $10/hr.

My wife does most of the shopping and the majority of the cooking in the house, so I just went off what she always tells me. We have an Aldi's and Lindil's by us, but she prefers Kroger and H-Mart (Asian market). She does goes to Trader Joes once in a blue moon, which makes your comment interesting. I might tell her that and she'll give Aldi another shot.

My sister hates Aldi too, but she says they smell funny. idk what that means.

This is why cancer is on the rise buying all this cheap food.

How you don't know about aldis? I talked about this store yrsss ago on here about my black Jew shopping.. I even mentioned how Aldi should open up around mad colleges to get all those college kids money cause of their cheap prices.. I called this place the cheap snack place.. This was my go to for my Superbowl stripper events I would throw and other events like boxing matches( May weather fights).. Less than $20 dollars would get you an assortment of lesser known chip brands, etc.. I go here and than go get dollar tree bowls.. Put variety of chips , cheese doodles, pretzels, popcorn in a bowl and let my customers snack on them for free.. What they don't know there was a method to my madness, chips, cheese doodles, pretzels make you thirsty and make you buy more drinks hahaha( sinister laughter) more money made off of looking like a charitable bizz.. But yeah the cheap snack store was the best... freshman 15 for college kids would've turned into freshman 30 with all the cheap assortmenys s of snacks they had

Speaking of aldis they the only place I know that actually had a food product I only ate twice in my life and mad I didn't know they sold it there until it was to late... Honey roasted sunflower seeds.. Let me repeat honey roasted sunflower seeds..no shell just the seed covered in a honey roasted flavor.. The shit is incredible tasting.. I only tasted this food item twice.. Once in my junior high school ( shit damn near caused a riot in my school cause nigs were running into the lunchroom trying to steal them off trays lol) than decades later when my older bro friend was snacking on them and let me get a bag and said he got it from Aldi at the Harlem mall.. I went to that aldis a few days later no more in there and they never brought them back.. This should be a thing honey roasted sunflower seeds I need to taste that greatness again

Some are confusing price-gouging / Trumponomics with quality.

These guys get it.. Like 7+ yrs ago they were hiring for like $14 + an HR at a bunch here in NYC I remember when I use to post and text that info out to a bunch of people in their teens and 20s looking for work or looking to switch jobs.. Yeah they definitely do things to cut prices, with the out of box shelving, the limited staffing, with the smaller variety, and lesser know name brands.. You pack your own bags
