Floyd Mayweather Jr. is viewing Manny Pacquiao as another fighter the networks and the public have built up to beat him. If a deal is finalized, they will face off on March 13. Mayweather says the media built up Ricky Hatton, Oscar De La Hoya and several others to place a blemish on his perfect record. All of them came up short. He says Pacquiao will also come up short.

"I just know can't nobody beat me," Mayweather said to the NY Post. "It is what it is. For 14 years they've been trying to find a fighter that can beat me and they've come up short every time."

The winner will end the debate over which of them is the pound for pound best in the world. A lot of people have said the pressure is on Mayweather because of his big talk over how Pacquiao is a one-dimensional fighter. Mayweather says there is no pressure. He says the pressure is fully on Pacquiao to rise to occasion.

"The thing is there's no pressure on Floyd Mayweather. Never. Whoever I face, there's pressure on them because they know they're fighting the best. When you put in the hard work and you dedicate yourself to your craft whatever your craft might be, you have no worries or pressure," Mayweather said.

lmao, I wasn't going to laugh but dude is delusional like Kobe.:lol::lol:

Good question. So I guess Pacquiao publicly says he thinks Floyd can beat him and that he is unworthy of the adulation and that all of his wins were flukes.

naw, nothing is wrong with him saying that. I was laughing because he never fights the best in the weight class. so of course he isn't going to be beat if he doesn't fight the best. but as for him saying it that is him. i'm sure he knows anyone can get touched. if he didn't he wouldn't train as hard and slack off like tyson did. i give pbf more credit than that. he takes his prep seriously. even though he was unprofessional and didn't make weight his last fight. i hope that never happens again.

I was laughing because he never fights the best in the weight class.

There are a lot of fighters that do the same thing...that's automatic in boxing.

Even then, which weight class are you talking about?

I have to admit, I've been one of the biggest antagonist of PBF fans on BGOL but honestly, Dude is right...there are a lot of fighters viewed as great who haven't fought the best in and around there division...

Roy Jones, Joe Calzaghe, Ricky Hatton to a point, and even now even though he gets a pass because he's 45, B-Hop. The thing is, and I am seeing it for what it is, it's a business and about money. I wouldn't fight a real tough fighter for half of what I can get for marketing a lesser challenge as a bigger one for more money...I do remember PBF saying once, 'If it doesn't make money it doesn't make sense!'... Can't argue with getting paid!:D

Greatness is not determined by the media. It is done in the ring. Hatton defeated one the greatest champs in that champs division. You got to give ricky his due for his win against kostya. Roy is a great talent but after he moved up to light heavy I thought he lost his greatness and just became a great talent. Thought i think he redeemed himself after fighting ruiz and tarver. Those were tough fights. And real fighters do that. Joe dominated his division like hopkins did. I cant knock him. Plus i never expected too much from him.

How many times has pbf fought a p4p fighter or hall of famer in their division. To be great you have to have done this a few times or at least been the man with the most belts. Pbf is an awesome talent but his resume is so weak it isnt funny. I mean how many p4p fighters has he fought? Then ask how many has he fought in their division. That is why dude gets little credit.

I definitely feel you. I really don't look at Floyd as an all time great due to his body of work but I do see him as ab all time great talent. But, that being said there are a lot of great talents who end up without two pennies to rub together so I can't knock floyds hustle. It's just that when it's all said and done and his career is over he's gonna be pissed at how his career is viewed.

I view him as an all time great...not just because he is unbeaten, but he has done it in an era where it is difficult to do so. For those that disagree, here are a few ways to view his career...

For starters, he is a defensive-minded, economic punch type fighter. He will not underestimate anyone, and he won't open himself up to effective counterpunches or to hooks that can damage him. He is in the class of Toney, Hopkins, and Winky (to an extent) in that they all know how to take a punch. In addition, placing him within the likes of Wright in the style that they fight means that you won't see him in an action packed fight anytime soon...Remember when Trinidad came back after losing to Hopkins? What did Wright do? Embarrass him...now he barely returned to fight Roy, but Winky scarred him for life...as a result (and he had the same problem long before that), no one wanted to fight Winky other than Paul Williams (who went through the same problem after beating Margacheetos)...

In the business of boxing, more fans will be excited about the Morales-Barrera, Vazquez-Marquez, Gatti-Ward, Corrales-Castillo, Cotto-Margarito, et cetera type fights because they know that they will be action-packed. Match any of them with a defense first guy and chances are they may get schooled...

I will explain more later...
