First date outfits?

There are a number of heavy threads that have been receiving a lot of action on this board, so let's lighten things up a bit. Ladies, gents, what do you wear to make a good first impression on a first date? What do you like to see your date in?

I'm prone to wear nice fitting jeans and a cute shirt, or maybe a cute sundress if it's during the summer. :)

I'm thinking a casual first date, but feel free to suggest what you would wear if the date was more formal, along the lines of a nice restaurant or something. Since we're on the subject, what's a good date?

I am a sucker for a lady in a one piece anything. Sundress, formal, whatever. I think it compliments the "right" body just perfectly. If you can pull it off that is the way to go with me.

Lately I've been loving wearing dresses, so I might where one of those unless we're doing something more casual, like bowling or more active. But dinner or dancing, or heck even pool, I'm wearing a dress.

Me too. I love dresses and skirts. I can't wait until it gets a little warmer so that I can wear more cute spring stuff.

Keep em' cumming, I mean coming ladies. I've got the pen and paper out while I imagine you in these outfits...;):D:yes::lol:

On a first date, I generally let them see my personal sense of style; this outfit here is, like, my generic outfit for a nice first date:

1) Trouser jeans or skinny jeans, 2) nice feminine blouse that shows off a good "asset" of mine, 3) Leather heels/boots, and then a 4) Pebbled leather bag

On the second and forthcoming dates, then I might bring out the dresses...but, I love to show him how sassy my style is first!

Depends on the venue.

Jeans and a black top always work for a casual dinner and movie.

A wrap dress for anything a little more upscale with a trendy shoe.

Although I found an awesome maxi dress at Mrs. Vickie's that I will order for my birthday.

During the spring and summer months.Linen capris with my toes out,and summer time I wear alot of dresses with my wedges but I accessorize. Winter, I wear a pair of skinny jeans with a nice top.

Good topic lilmomma! I agree with showing my personal style, on the first date. I dress casually, but stylish, never trendy. In the warmer months...casual affair, I might wear jeans, a nice shirt, sandals...or even shorts if it were a picnic. No jewelry, just a watch. Simple & clean.

if the date isnt fancy i like to wear jeans with some really cute heels or boots and a shirt or sweater

i usually dont wear skirts or dresses until the second date

honestly i take into consideration how i was looking when he met me...i usually try to exceede that on the first date

I wore a halter top, capris, and cute sneakers on my last first date. But I was also 15.... I think for an adult a nice top and fitted jeans and decent shoes work well anytime....

Good thread...

I like the ladies' responses so far...

As for me, I'll rock a button-up or polo with jeans and hard-bottoms if it's a casual first date. And maybe a hat and/or blazer depending on what I'm feelin' and where we're going.

On her...

I'm a sucker for wrap dresses, sundresses, jeans or pants with nice tops and heels with all the accessories. I love when a lady can be versatile with her wardrobe too though. Like...when she can rock the aforementioned stuff one day, but rock a fly t-shirt and jeans or a nice little fitted sweatsuit and nice sneakers. Ya know, like if we're going bowling or to an amusement park or somethin'.

And less is more when it comes to make-up!

:lol::lol::lol:You're too much DA

I don't give much thought to it ... I just dress according to my mood ... I try to look fly always ... but one thing I know for sure ... I wont wear anything too sexxxy like a low cut top or something like that cuz then the boys start getting all frisky and shit and I don't like men clawing at me like pussy montsters ... well ... at least not on the FIRST date;)

Depends on where we going. But the typical would be a nice solid color dress shirt( I don't like patterns on dress shirts), a sport coat, jeans, and hard bottoms.

I don't really feel comfortable out on a date without a collared shirt whether it's a casual polo or a dress shirt. Unless the situation calls for a tee shirt. Like a park or something.

My personal style is very classy and subtle. My "dress to impress", first date type clothing includes tailored sportcoats and oxford shirts in cooler weather, or light v-neck sweaters and oxfords during the springtime. I couple those with some nice slacks and an elegant pair of shoes. I made an exception on my most recent first date; I wore a black zip up hoodie, white tee, some jeans and some Kenneth Cole 'reaction speed racer' shoes to a concert. She was a casual woman; very unusual in NYC.
