Nintendo is confident that the Wii’s installed base will top the Xbox 360’s by June in the US.
So says Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime, who told Bloomberg he expects Wii sales to be driven by the likes of Super Smash Bros. Brawl, which is already a million seller in Japan and scheduled for release in the US on March 9.
The Wii has greatly closed the gap on the 360 in the US by outselling Microsoft’s console in almost every month since its release, according to NPD sales data. The likes of Wii Fit and Mario Kart Wii, both of which will launch before June, are also likely to help move Wii systems.
