I would check w/ a stylist, unless there are some on the board. Here is some places for some info:

My sister gave me one last year for my birthday, and I love it. I have the Chi Turbo, and it straightens my hair perfectly. I use it to straighten my hair whenever I do my hair myself. My sister has very coarse hair that she keeps natural, and when she uses it, it looks like she got a professional press. She has the original one I believe. If your hair is relaxed, put it on a low setting (it gets up to 450 deg), and make sure to use a cream made for protecting your hair from excessive heat, regardless if your hair is natural or relaxed. Whichever one you decide to get, it will have your hair bone straight from roots to tip, and will look very shiny.

does it matter if it is 1 or 2 inches, b/c she has long thick hair that goes down to her mid back.
