FAMU interim President asks entire senior leadership team to resign 1 week before Fall semester

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - Florida A&M University’s interim president is implementing new leadership changes at the HBCU.

In a letter to FAMU’s senior leadership team dated Aug. 12, Interim President Dr. Timothy Beard asked the team of 19 people to resign from their positions effective on Tuesday.

The following people have had their resignation letters accepted by Beard:

  • Athletic Director, Tiffani-Dawn Sykes
  • Communications Director, Keith Miles
  • Vice President of Legal Affairs/General Counsel, Denise Wallace
  • Director of Government Relations, Danielle McBeth

Yeah, this situation shows just how inept their leadership was. I don't know if getting rid of them in one fail swoop is the way to go, but an overhaul is definitely needed. FAMU and Howard's endowment should be well over 1 billion.

Funding would be 1 or 2 people in leadership but not the whole team. YIKES. Seems like something done by the President and Board members.

Yeah but is doing it right before the start of the school year a good idea?
 
As an alum, this def needed to happen after that bs with the donation. Not sure if all of them needed to go, but some fef should have been held accountable.

I'm wondering if something else was going on in the background with dude approaching these HBCU's.
