F* yeah Wall Street Occupation Live Stream yes in NY NOW LIVE

Peeps the oligarchs own 90%+ of the major "corporate media".
ibwvUq.jpg
See the full chart HERE
So that means that if you watch television (as 90% of Americans do AS THEIR ONLY SOURCE OF NEWS) you are going to see a full-court-press attempting to ridicule and discredit the "We Are The 99 Percent" movement. NONE of the corporate media talks about income inequality in the US which hasn't been this tilted to the top 1% and in reality the top fraction of that 1% since 1929. There is a waiting list to buy private jets. Rolls-Royce car sales are up 171% from last year. Meanwhile the real US unemployment rate is 25% not 9.1%. That 9.1% rate you see on television only counts people who are actively looking for work; not those who after sending out 300 resumes or going to a dozen job interviews have given up. Recent college grads, including Ivy league grads are having difficulty getting jobs. 8,000+ homes are foreclosed each day. There is a one year wait to get into the US military. To get THE REAL FACE of this movement go to the site:

Is it staged or are they being infiltrated? Which one? You don't have to infiltrate something you've created.

good question, I'm sure it started out with a few well-intentioned individuals (students, unemployed, unions etc.) which I don't object to because there is a lot of frustration in the air. BUT, it changed last week when I saw that communist, Van Jones, on Bill Maher last week (I was visiting my father, he watches that crap :) ) Thats when I knew the "fix" was in...............then, Who invited Michael Moore? thats when the theatrics & posturing started

I don't recall Michael Moore demanding socialism, at least not anymore than any other American (we're all socialists, keep it real). He's against the Big Banks and their often illegal, immoral practices which end up being anti-capitalism for everyone but themselves. I've never heard Moore or anyone come out against banks that are in the loaning money business.

Why does he (Michael Moore) avoid talking about the Federal Reserve Bank? Doesn't he know JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs, Wells Fargo (the Big Banks you say he is against) are all enabled by the Federal Reserve Bank? Why does he not recognize the root of the problem? He only says capitalism is the problem.

"The fix"? This isn't Van Jones' movement but he's doing something wrong by agreeing with them publicly? He invalidates them somehow by not being against them?
Not theatrics, mainstream attention, as he intended. It becomes more and more difficult for the corporate media to ignore the protesters when mainstream celebrities and personalities start showing up.

He says unregulated, naked capitalism is the problem.
So you're problem sounds more like he doesn't fight the battle you want him to so you're against him.

M. Moore is being intellectually dishonest with the people.

He actin like Sen. Obama didn't vote for TARP
He actin like NAFTA don't exist
He actin like Pres. Obama economic advisors aint filled with a bunch of cats from Goldman Sachs
He wants to dismiss the fact that the Federal Reserve Bank has monopolistic control over the issuance of currency & credit

M. Moore, stop turning a blind eye towards some of the underlying problems with the economy. Doesn't he realize that "printing money" destroys the purchasing power of the poor & the middle class?

It's not unregulated, naked capitalism that is the problem. We haven't had that in our lifetimes. Legislation from the govt, in collusion with the actions Federal Reserve Bank have "picked the winners & losers" in this economy.

"If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation then by deflation, the banks and the corporations will grow up around them, will deprive the people of all property until their children wake up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs." - Thomas Jefferson

Journalists Funded By ‘Vulture Capitalist’ Paul Singer Campaign To Smear Wall Street Protests

thomassinger.jpg

The campaign to marginalize and destroy the growing 99 Percent Movement is in full swing, with many in the media attempting to smear the people participating in the “occupation” protests across the country. However, several of the so-called journalists deriding, and in some cases sabotaging the movement, have paychecks thanks to a billionaire whose business practices have been scorned as among the worst of the financial elite.

As the New York Times has documented, Paul Singer, a Republican activist and hedge fund manager worth over $900 million, has emerged as one of the most important power brokers within the GOP. Now, it appears that the reporters financed by Singer are at the forefront of efforts to tarnish the reputation of 99 Percent Movement demonstrators:
Journalist Who Admitted To Infiltrating Protests To ‘Mock And Undermine’ The Movement Works For A Singer-Supported Right-Wing Magazine. In a column posted last night, reporter Patrick Howley admitted that he had surreptitiously joined an anti-war spin-off group from the OccupyDC protests that planned to demonstrate at a military drone exhibit at the Smithsonian’s Air and Space museum. Howley wrote that he “infiltrated” the action and sprinted into the police along with a few protesters in order to “mock and undermine” the movement. Singer is a major donor to the Spectator, a right-wing magazine known for its role in the “Arkansas Project,” a well-funded effort to invent stories with the goal of eventually impeaching President Clinton.

Journalist Pushing To Discredit Occupy Wall Street Is Funded By Singer’s Think Tank. Josh Barro, a journalist who has attacked the 99 Percent Movement in the National Review and the New York Daily News, draws a salary from the Wriston Fellowship at the Manhattan Institute, a big business advocacy think tank in New York. Barro makes the same tired arguments, that anti-Wall Street protesters are too inarticulate and “extreme” to be taken seriously. Singer is the chairman of the Manhattan Institute, and even oversees the Wriston annual fundraiser.
As Singer-funded journalists make their best effort to diminish the Occupy Wall Street protesters as confused idiots unable to articulate a clear goal, it so happens that these journalists are funded by a man who epitomizes the crony capitalist behavior of the greedy one percent.

Singer, manager of a $17 billion hedge fund, earned the moniker “vulture capitalist” for buying the debt of Third World countries for pennies on the dollar, then using his political and legal connections to extract massive judgements to force collection — even from nations suffering from starvation and violent conflicts. Singer and his partners have used such tactics in Panama, Ecuador, Poland, Cote d’Ivoire, Turkmenistan, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. In addition to squeezing impoverished countries with sovereign debt schemes, Singer speculates in the oil markets, a practice which can lead to gasoline price hikes here in the United States. The revelation that Singer engages in oil speculation, and also funds Republican lawmakers opposed to oil speculation regulations, was exposed by ThinkProgress using leaked government documents.

Singer’s political philanthropy is tied to his business interests. As Greg Palast has reported, Singer purchased near-bankrupt asbestos companies before his allies in Congress changed an asbestoas-liability law to make his investment incredibly profitable (at the expense, critics allege, of sickened workers). More recently, Singer has forged close financial ties to Rep. Scott Garrett (R-NJ), a little-known lawmaker at the forefront of efforts to repeal Dodd-Frank financial regulations on hedge funds like Elliott Associates, Singer’s firm.

The rise of Singer’s political profile can be traced to his work as a top donor to pro-Bush character-assasination groups like the “Swift Boat Veterans.” In recent years, he has quietly worked with the right-wing billionaire industrialist Koch brothers and Republican strategist Karl Rove to finance a fleet of anti-Obama organizations, including the shady attack ad nonprofit, “Crossroads GPS.” Singer also led a controversial group of Republican moneymen in a bid to recruit Gov. Chris Christie (R-NJ) into the presidential race, but shifted to endorsing Mitt Romney. Singer and Romney are already close; Singer’s hedge fund actually manages at least $1 million of the former governor’s personal investments.

Singer’s influence even extends to the Supreme Court. As ThinkProgress reported, Singer hosted Justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito to speak at his $5,000-$25,000 a plate dinners.

Obama extends support for protesters

By Shannon Bond in New York

Barack Obama, US president, offered more support for protesters against the global financial system after a weekend of demonstrations in cities around the world, but called on them not to “demonise” those who worked on Wall Street.

On Sunday, Mr Obama honoured Martin Luther King at a dedication to a new memorial on National Mall in Washington. Referring to protests that have spread from Wall Street to London, Rome and elsewhere, Mr Obama said: “Dr King would want us to challenge the excesses of Wall Street without demonising those who work there.” Mr Obama had previously said the protests “express the frustration” of ordinary Americans with the financial sector.

A top Republican in Washington dramatically altered his stance on protesters involved in Occupy Wall Street just one week after comparing the movement to “angry mobs”. Eric Cantor, the Republican majority leader in the House of Representatives, told Fox News on Sunday that Republicans agreed there was “too much” income disparity in the country. “More important than my use of the word [‘mobs’] is that there is a growing frustration out there across the country and it is warranted. Too many people are out of work,” he said.

Thousands took part in demonstrations this weekend around the world, many voicing their anger at the bail-out of banks and government austerity packages. “It is ridiculous the government is willing to pay out over a trillion pounds to bail out banks while at the same time cutting our pensions and benefits in the name of austerity,” offered Tai Wardallg, a protest organiser in London.

But some bankers and others in the protesters’ sights sought to spread the blame. Andreas Schmitz, head of the German banking federation and chief executive of HSBC Trinkaus, told the Financial Times on Sunday that protests against banks were “a diversion from the fundamental problem: that we can no longer finance our welfare states”.

In 2008 a banking crisis caused a budget crisis for governments, he said. Now “a state debt crisis [in the eurozone] is causing a banking crisis”. Politicians, he warned, should not try to make the banks the “fall guys” for their mistakes.

Protesters complained about banking excesses, but the demonstrations reflect more than simple anger at financial institutions, argued a banker in London. “It’s becoming apparent these are protests that aren’t just about banks, it’s all manner of things . . . They’re talking about the number of millionaires in the cabinet and all kinds of things – it doesn’t necessarily simply involve the banking sector.”

Demonstrators picked the wrong target when they chose to rally at stock exchanges in New York and London, executives of some of the world’s largest exchanges said. “We are the most visible symbols of the financial world so it makes exchanges an obvious destination. But I don’t think it’s the right target. We don’t represent the financial sector,” said Ron Arculli, chairman of the World Federation of Exchanges.

Others voiced sympathy for the demonstrators. Banks “just compete and stampede to make money at the expense of consumers,” said Atsushi Saito, Tokyo Stock Exchange chief executive. “To some extent, I can understand the mindset of those demonstrators against Wall Street.”

The rallies show Americans want a “financial system that works,” said David Axelrod, chief campaign strategist for Mr Obama, on Sunday. They support financial reforms which some Republican presidential candidates have threatened to roll back, he said.

In Italy, Silvio Berlusconi, prime minister, condemned the violence in Rome by a “large group” or rioters, although the initial violence came from just small numbers of “black bloc” anarchist and far-left militants. Paolo, a researcher in molecular biology who marched in Rome, said the police had let rioting get out of hand in order to “criminalise” and discredit protesters.

Protesters’ grievances remained disparate and wide-ranging, with signs in various cities condemning corporate greed, demanding an end to the Iraq and Afghanistan wars and calling for student debt relief. A statement posted on an activist web site that helped organise the protests said: “United in one voice, we will let politicians, and the financial elites they serve, know it is up to us, the people, to decide our future.”

It is unclear what the next step for protesters will be. In New York, where the month-long Occupy Wall Street movement has been a leading inspiration for protesters, dozens remained at their base in Zuccotti Park on Sunday. The group’s agenda listed only a committee meeting and the regular nightly assembly scheduled for the evening.

Supporters of Occupy Wall Street have donated nearly $300,000 in cash, as well as food, blankets, medical supplies and sleeping bags, spokesman Bill Dobbs told the Associated Press.

New York Police Department said at least 88 were arrested in New York on Saturday and overnight, including two dozen for trespassing at a Citibank branch and 45 in Times Square.

In London, hundreds of protesters occupying the steps of St Paul’s cathedral have begun to settle in, erecting tents and setting up a kitchen, a media centre and toilets. “We will occupy this space for as long as it takes for our voices to be heard,” said Adam Young, a student who was also at the Wall Street occupation. “The system is broken and it is up to us to fix it,” he said.

Others stressed they were part of a global movement for justice. “First came the Arab Spring and Spain’s indignados. Then came the Wall Street protests. In London, we are now part of this movement campaigning for a better world,” said Spyro Van Leemnen.

Tear gas and mayhem at Occupy Oakland:
help or hindrance to the cause?

1026-occupy-wall-street-occupy-oakland-tear-gas_full_380.jpg

Do confrontations and clashes with police – such
as those on the nightly news Tuesday that showed tear
gas drifting across Oakland, Calif. – egg on the Occupy
Wall Street movement or choke its momentum?

<hr noshade color="#ff0000" size="4"></hr>

The city of Oakland California at the behest of its moronic mayor decided to send paramilitary storm troopers (S.W.A.T.) to brutalize peaceful unarmed US citizens exercising their constitutional rights. One of the storm troopers, air-gun-fired-noxious-gas-canisters shattered the skull of a protestor who happened to be Iraq [War?] veteran Scott Olsen (See NBC News Video Below).

scott-olson-bleeding.jpg

Police assault shattered Scott Olsen's skull

Describing this encounter as a “confrontation” or “clash” with police, belies the reality and truth of what occurred in Oakland; which was a paramilitary assault on unarmed non-violent US citizens peacefully protesting the destruction of the American middle-class which was once the envy of the world. Figures just released (OCT. 20, 2011) but barely mentioned on corporate television media (CBS, NBC, ABC, <s>FOX</s> FAKE, CNN) revealed that <SPAN style="background-color:yellow">30% of all Americans are earning less than $15,000 a year!!.......and 50% of all Americans are earning less than $26,364 a year!!!...... </SPAN> the lowest levels since 1999, after adjusting for inflation.......and...<SPAN style="background-color:yellow">the number of people making more than $1 million increased by 20 percent over 2009</span> Read: REUTERS- David Cay Johnston-Oct.20.2011

The American middle-class is disappearing.
Despite years of enduring a massive US Government sanctioned, corporate media sponsored “Black PSYOPS” operations, designed to convince middle class American citizens that their living standards was not declining,— even as from 2002 thru 2007, 66% of all income gains went to the top 1 percent of households, —— American citizens are finally waking up to the deception!
Is it too late????

Watch Important Video Below from British owned REUTERS, you won’t see facts like this broadcast on CBS, NBC, ABC, <s>FOX</s> FAKE, CNN.

During the massive Psychological Operations (PSYOPS) campaign waged against American citizens by the corporate media led by <s>FOX</s> FAKE News; a campaign successfully deceiving most middle class American citizens into believing that their living standard, if it was going down, was solely their fault and had nothing to do with their pockets being picked by the top 1% and the corporate oligarchs who were sending, their jobs overseas; — <SPAN style="background-color:yellow">the media made sure you never saw Senator Bernie Sanders in 2003 confronting then Federal Reserve chief Alan Greenspan with the truth that the middle class was being destroyed.</span>

Meanwhile here in my hometown New York City we saw a Marine Sargent, a combat veteran who did multiple tours in Iraq single handedly, prevent New York City Police Men, from becoming fascist storm troopers and brutalizing unarmed US citizens as they marched through New York’s Time Square.
