Ex-NFL QB Vince Young allegedly spent $5K a week at Cheesecake Factory

Man listen, Young was doing some stupid shit with his money but the dumbest shit he did was hire his uncle and so called "family" friends to be the handlers of his money. They cleaned his pockets smooth the fuck out.

Dude hired one of his uncles who was a school teacher to make some of his business decisions and a local lawyer in Houston who really didn't have much experience as an agent. Now he's suing them, good luck with that :smh:. Cat's have to educate themselves about finances, it ain't that hard.

They probably did but at the same time, they were salivating like sharks seeing blood in the water with Vince's financial ineptitude.

I see BGOL's Financial Committee Club (B.G.O.L.F.C.C) is in full force tonight.

I never understood this...all the hard work you put into football...pop warner, high school, college...and then you reach the pinnacle of all that blood, sweat, and tears, then just say FUCK IT?!?! I think it's the people in his ear all the time, telling him he's the shit, and the ego gets inflated and reduces the work ethic. I went to school with a pro basketball player that cruised through school, had plenty of dick riders(most of them teachers), and then gets to the NBA and just fucks his life all up. He was a cool dude, but the fame and attention will fuck up your mind if you aren't prepared.

That nigga Lendale White was never really in that good of shape though

People like him and the dude you speak of got by on pure talent alone and people giving them a pass to really have any sort of accountability

Once you get to the pros all that shit is over

I've never been, though.

How is it?

Lets put it this way, on Thursday, me, the wife and kid decided to go out to the Cheesecake Factory. We got about 3 blocks away and decided to go to Fridays instead. Prices are about the same, I think Fridays food is a little better. I didn't feel like eating cheesecake anyway.

C'mon son CF menu shits all over Friday's menu.

They get by on talent and also the coaches in high school/college give them something of a pass. They will run them after practice or hold playing time over their head until they get in shape.

Also in the pros you don't have the same structure that you have in h.s./ college, besides mini-camps, which are only about a month or so, staying in shape in the off-season is all on you. I would guess that most if not all of the guys who have longevity in any pro league only take about a TOTAL of a month or so off in a year without doing any workouts.

Maybe, maybe not.

I don't know that mans business but I can give you one example of how VY's uncle was giving him advice. My uncle is a financial adviser(UT-EX) and was trying to sign VY.

Adidas was interested in signing Vince to a endorsement deal when he was entering the league. I think the deal was for either one or two million(can't remember the actual number) but Vince likes The Swoosh and wanted to sign with Nike. Nike wasn't really interested. Instead of his uncle telling him to take the deal with Adidas, he tried to use the offer from them to get Nike to sign Vince.

It was another company that wanted to sign VY to an endorsement deal around the same time, I want to say Subway but that might not be right, but his uncle didn't like whomever it was so his uncle didn't want to sign with them. He wanted American Express but like Nike they didn't have any interest in VY at the time. I didn't get a update at the time after I was told this so I don't know what the outcome was in either situation. I also don't recall seeing Vince pushing any products. Or maybe I just don't remember.

Make out of that what you will.

:lol: Bullshit. CF prices are a lot higher and the food is much better than Fridays.

Nothing wrong with anything you typed, basic negotiation right there & if you don't like the company...why sign? Adidas had the first 2 picks in the draft, so its logical that they would want VY. He ended up w/ Reebok which is owned by Adidas...so they got him anyway. Nike doesn't rookies to big deals, nothing wrong with using one offer to increase another.

VY wasn't marketing material. Not the brightest bulb & has a strong southern drawl.
