some of yawl gave a lot of cool replies to the post i created last week about how strange it was (imo) for the homie to be 2 wks late on rent after being in the same place for almost 4 years and get a threat of eviction. so he hits me up earlier and says that he STILL got the eviction lawsuit from the court AFTER paying the rent (he was short like $100 or something like that). but the courtwork figre read that he still owes for the entire month? :dunno:

as someone that pays a mortgage i ain't really up on what his rent options are but some of u guys own rental property. what's his best option? i told him to just take his payment stubs to court and to NOT ignore the court paperwork. dude says he has five days to respond and i can tell he's nervous cause he says he knows nothing about courts.

It depends on the wording within his rental agreement. Also his landlord may have conveniently overstated his rent deficient in hopes of speeding up his eviction. It varies state to state. But it seems his landlord wants him out. :smh:

yeah man. and the homie is a nice guy so i don't know why he's getting dissed like that. i'm wondering if the rent in other units has gone up and the building owner wants to get tenants that will pay more? dude moved in and got a good rate but now with the housing market all fuked up, there are more people trying to move into apts then houses. there was a newspaper article out a lil while back talking about how apartments in la county now have on average over a 90 percent occupancy rate after the housing market collapse
