This story was brought up in another thread already, so no need to go over the whole story again. In a nutshell, a black kid got major jail time for getting CONSENSUAL head from an underage girl. This kid had a future ahead of him and it was stripped from him. A white teacher can seduce a 13 year old kid and get 90 days while a black kid gets head and gets 10 years. Hell, if getting dome from a 15 year old girl is a felony, half of America should be locked up. So for a minute, stop looking at pussy and do something worthy. This kid needs our help.

I feel what you're saying. However, just or unjust, the law is clear here. Depending on what the legal age of consent is in that state, minor children under that set age don't have the right to consent to anything....period. When I taught high school, I always told my junior and senior students to be very careful of dating freshmen and sophomores. They are under age and just because you're in high school doesn't change anything. You will go to jail for statutory rape. It stinks but thats the law. :smh:

The case is closed, but there still is work that can be done to get this young man freed. The petition is simply a show of support so that maybe someone in the right place can do what needs to be done the right way.​

Genarlow Wilson sits in prison despite being a good son, a good athlete and high school student with a 3.2 GPA. He never had any criminal trouble. On the day he was to sit for the SAT, at seventeen years old, his life changed forever. He was arrested. In Douglas County he was accused of inappropriate sexual acts at a News Year’s Eve party. A jury acquitted him of the allegation of Rape but convicted him of Aggravated Child Molestation for a voluntary act of oral sex with another teenager. He was 17, and she was 15.

Along with the label “child molester” which will require him throughout his life to be on a sexual offender registry, Genarlow received a sentence of eleven years — a mandatory 10 years in prison and 1 year on probation.

On July 1st, the new Romeo and Juliet law went into effect in Georgia for any other teen that engages in consensual sexual acts. That change in the law means that no teen prosecuted for consensual oral sex could receive more than a 12 months sentence or be required to register as a sex offender.

Had this law been in effect when Genarlow Wilson was arrested, or had been done after the Marcus Dixon case, Genarlow would not now be in jail.

There is a Double standered b/w Male and female sex offenders. Woman never get more than a year check that lady a couple year ago who slept wit the latino kid she got locked up twice and had his kid before she saw anything close to real time. What happened to woman wanting equality?

I remember during the Marcus Dixon story. The key issue is that nobody has been prosecuted for engaging in consensual sex with this type of age difference of only two years. The law was designed for going after pedo who are alot older that mess with an underage girl. The prosecutor had the discretion not to bring the charges on Marcus Dixon.

The prosecutors are covering themselves since they went after Marcus Dixon who messed with a white girl. It would have raised red flags if they did not prosecute this guy under the same law because the alleged victim was black.
