What I don’t understand is why is it “over” for him? I’d be mad/hurt, but 20 years of my hard work won’t be taken by ANYBODY.

Idk the laws out there but in some cases in places like nyc if you serve alcohol and you have incidents the higher ups can take away your liquor license.. for some places liqs be their bread and butter as far as generating the most money, so if license gone a good chunk of revenue is no longer available for you to make.. Also a shootout is bad publicity in the worst way and can/will deter some customers from going cause they look at your establishment as a danger zone.. just thank how many people gonna want to immediately go to a place that people got shot at? That right there gonna stop a lot of patrons from entering for the short term and possibly long term.. idk his funds so idk how long can he go for a slow down at his spot.. there’s always other options but he might not know or want to go the other routes.. either way fucked up situation to be in opening up shop and something that has nothing to do with you fucked your shit up

I get that. I’d def be mad af. But it’s Oakland. We all know this kinda thing is always a possibility, unfortunately. I’m born and raised in the city, spent years in the town, Pierre Pierre is a dope lil spot. Maybe I’m fucked up hut I’m not surprised at all. I honestly thought it was Smellys at first based on the decor, but shit like this ain’t super rare. Hell the owner of Lucky 777 got killed at his restaurant/truck a year or two ago. They back open now (albeit they don’t sell liquor and not the same kinda spot).
