Haven't played Doom since the 90's.
Good memories
I still got the 3.5' floppy disks.
And I remember all the cheat codes
Looks fun. Watched a few streams on twitch.TV Ill get it once and the price comes down
I tried to play it when it came out on XBox but it was to story driven. The Doom I remember they shoot at your ass soon as you open the first door. Wolfenstien 3D too.
I remember playing Doom, Wolfenstein, Duke Nukem and Quake in college on my associates PCs.
A lot of folks who played the Beta were shitting on it. I had it loaded but didn't bother.

I would go to my friends house to play video games. This kid had every game and system known to man. When he got on punishment and was barred from watching tv. We would go downstairs to his basement. His mother didn't know his old ass Amiga computer had video games. This dude had a shit load of floppy disks. the graphics were shit compared to the Sega Genesis and the Turbo Grafix 16 we were playing at the time. But it was something!!!

First "shareware" title I ever bought was original "Doom". Sent off a paper check to some address in Texas and got back a manilla envelope with 3.5 inch floppies a week later. They used all kind of tricks to make it look like 3D, but that game was all sprites and bitmaps.
