Who were your favorites.

I'm old so my favorites go way back. As I aged I tended to like the heels, such as Piper and Flair.

Bruno Samartino
Rocky Johnson
Rowdy Roddy Piper
Ric Flair - Saw him at some country ass high school in NC, then ran into him in an empty hallway. Just him and me. I was scared to death. I was 15, I think.

I pretty much stopped watching in the late 80s. Occasionally a newer match would catch my attention. So, unfortunately, the names in the poll will probably leave out a few newer wrestlers as well as some older ones.

and he was right I truly hated piper more than I liked any wrestler. When he attacked snuka

I remember a match where The Hammer got the shit kicked out of him by a no name vat that was supposed to lose.

Shit was funny as hell.

Wrestling was determined to be fake back in the 1960s. There were even wrestlers who spoke on the tactics guys used like razors in their taped wrist to make it look like their heads were bleeding heavily.

I've seen guys get hit with metal folding chairs and still win the fight. If I hit somebody with a chair they won't be moving well, so forget winning a match. Wrestling is fake.

Favorite managers

Playboy Gary Hart (very underrated)
Bobby Heenan (all time great)
Jim Cornette (brilliant mind)
Kevin Sullivan (was to first to bring satanic imagery into wrestling)
Mr. Fuji (his devious grin was always funny)
Skandor Akbar (devastation inc. was a beast stable)
Classy Freddy Blassie (was always funny with that crop)

Favorite play by play

Gordon Solie
Mean Gene Okerlund
Gorilla Monsoon
Bobby Heenan
Jim Ross
Jesse Ventura

Most annoying babyfaces

Hulk Hogan (Puts himself over 98% of the time:mad:)
Dusty Rhodes (Entertaining but he kept a lot of talent back as a booker in both WCW and NWA)

Most boring babyface

Ricky The Dragon Steamboat (can put on a 5 star match but super bland he never was a heel but needed a heel run)

Underrated monsters

Stan 'The Lariat' Hansen (bigger legend in Japan than the US)
Terry 'Bam Bam' Gordy (a natural big man worker)
Dr. Death Steve Williams (strong as an ox)
Mad Dog Buzz Sawyer (not a giant but a beast in the ring)

I grew up on 1980's wrestling.

Every Saturday(6:05 PM) Georgia/NWA Wrestling would be on.

Buzz Sawyer/Wahoo McDaniel/The Masked Superstar/The Spoiler/Ronnie Garvin/The Road Warriors/The Freebirds..etc.

I even remember AWA being on ESPN on the weekdays.

Anybody remember "Iceman' King Parsons?

R.I.P Butch Reed, Kamala, & Steve Williams.

This guys knows what's up^^^^^^^^^^^^

That 80s wrestling is the equivalent to 90s hip hop.

Hacksaw Butch Reed was not only my favorite black wrestler, he was my favorite all time. I was saddened by his recent passing. Jim Harris was also a legend and a real humble gentle soul. Miss them both.

I remember Hacksaw Butch Reed. Rocky Johnson and Tony Atlas was a little black kid's here back in the day.
