Tru dat. Baseball is a joke ...

No it isn't. That's extremely tough to get into as well. Some years no one gets voted in at all.

and football with different positions and how they're used is tought to gauge.

Football is the easiest. They HAVE to induct a minimum of 6 each year.

Everyone forgets that there is technically NO NBA HALL OF FAME. THERE IS THE BASKETBALL HALL OF FAME. Dikembe's College accomplishments at Georgetown will have to be considered too.

His last year of college he was a All American and averaged
15Pts 12Rebs 4.7 Blocks

Plus I'm guessing it will be a pretty weak class that comes up for the Hall of Fame in 2014.

Probably
Sam Cassell
Alan Houston
Alonzo Mourning
Dikembe Mutumbo

Names will be on the ballot for voting. So looking at that probable class... Dikeme has a excellent chance of getting in. Please believe that all of Dikembe's humanitarian efforts will be on the minds of voters when the select YES OR NO. could make the difference because I think most of the voters will WANT DIKEMBE IN.....even though it is not supposed too.

Strong points DiamondDeuce. It's the Basketball Hall of Fame. That's why Vivian Stringer's getting in this year and deservedly so. Plus other's like Meadowlark Lemon, Curly, Sweetwater Clifton, etc. In addition good point in regards to his humanitarian efforts. Although we like to say we're only supposed to look at his on court production ...we don't.

Walton got in for his College Stats moreso than his NBA stats. He was one of the GREATEST COLLEGE BASKETBALL PLAYERS OF ALL TIME.

Remember there is no NBA HALL OF FAME... there is just the Basketball Hall of Fame

The collegiate careers of NBA players aren't considered. Once you become a pro that's what you're judged on.

The other categories are totally separate ones with different voting panels, for coaches, international players, AMATEURS, other contributors and women.

Mutombo

as entertaining as some of these HOF polls can be, they should all really die.

the basketball HOF is tainted because it was run by an MLB guy for WAY TOO LONG.

how much sense does it make to have an MLB guy running what is supposed to be the most hallowed place for basketball?

with all the EXTREMELY poor inductions made during his tenure, how much sense can the ones that follow make?

Whoever's "running" it has nothing to do with who the voters select. The choices aren't made by one person.

And who are the "extremely poor inductions?"

And???? Eligible NBA players of stature are basically nominated automatically, and the appropriate people then vote on them. The above "nomination process" particularly refers to the more obscure or tangential candidates for nomination, in the areas that don't include NBA players, like amateur, women, international, coaches and contributors.

You still haven't answered what these "extremely poor inductions" were, and how they differed from any other HOF inductions (or exclusions) that have stirred up debate.

Doesn't really matter who's in charge or voting, someone's always gonna bitch when their "binky" doesn't get in or when someone they hate does. Seems like most of the people that need to be in the Hall are pretty much there, or will be. It's not that complicated a process to get the best inducted, while the borderline cases have to wait their turn, as with every Hall.

Mutombo will get into the Hall of Fame on the 1st ballot. He is an African and the standard will be lower for him than it is for a Black American. There will be a sympathy sentiment factoring in the decision of a few of the voters, and he will get in. Say I told you so....
Maybe because he's done more for his people than the 'black american' basketball players.
