City male trees are out here spraying their seeds with no females to receive 'em.
Gotta love science and nature!

I just actually watched the video. If you've ever had a fruit tree in your yard. Like a full grown fruit tree that produces ripe fruit that shit is mess in the summer when it starts baring fruit. My family's first house in Detroit had an apple tree and a pear tree in the backyard. The pear tree was grown and I hated mowing the back yard. Nothing but dead fruit all over the grass and you was slipping and sliding on that shit. Don't even mention the amount of bubble bees that was back there. Now picture that kind of scenario through a major city. They'd have to spend money to clean it up, and maintain that kind of shit, so more money to spend on maintenance. etc. So I don't know if that reason passes the smell test. Hell, the trees that are male aren't even fruit trees. It's mostly cedar allergies in Texas. If you go out in Hill Country ain't no damn fruit. It's generally different types of cedar, oak and pecan if you're in the right spot.

Nothing is stopping people from planting fruit trees their backyard. Hell, the house I bought, the previous owner or tenants planted two pomegranate trees in the fruit yard and some type of citrus tree in the backyard. Who the fuck plants a fruti tree in the front yard of their house? I cut that bullshit down in front with the quickness. It wasn't even a grown pomegranate tree, but the shit dropping fruit all on the front lawn. Neighbor said the pomegranate test like shit. lol The freeze in 2021 took out the citrus tree, otherwise I would've keep that one. Anyway, just my two cents.

The constant picking and cleaning of the fruits they produce probably influenced why city planners mainly planted female trees. Less mess helps keep a big city cleaner compared to a smaller city.

Yes, believe random internet people who sound like they know what they're talking about.

Pollen is technically tree sperm. Lol. I have bad pollen allergies and every year I make a joke about trees nutting everywhere. Mid to late spring the cars be covered with that shit.

Pollen is a powdery substance produced by flowering plants, trees, and grasses as part of their reproductive cycle. It consists of tiny grains that contain male gametes (reproductive cells). Pollen can be dispersed by wind or insects, facilitating the fertilization of plants.

You're right trees that produce fruits are messy for the yard, and people do steal the fruits.

Myself included

Just wanted to make sure that they were ripe. :giggle:
