"High school really taught me nothing. I have no idea how checks work, or credit cards, or how loans works or anything really essential"
No. High school taught me how people work and that's as essential as it gets.

A different time being the 70's for me. So my parents were the 60's. And they drug addicts. So i didn't learn shit from them. Which means i had to learn everything dolo. With parents growing up in the 60's everything pretty much was jesus. Kinda. Not really because I wasn't looking to learn that in HS. Matter of fact we started banking in grade school.
They xmas club accounts.
Besides my father taught us how to bank and the value of earning money.
But then again i grew up in a different time than many posters. We didn't get shit just because we wanted it.

I was the dude in High school who had everything but my own apartment, with the responsibility of maintaining it and I used to ask myself "Why am I here with these kids"I've always was my own thinker.I didn't belong or fit in because I've always been around people that were older."High school really taught me nothing.
