Dollar General plans to open 900 new stores (compared to an estimated 1,285 new units in fiscal 2017), remodel 1,000 existing sites and relocate 100 stores (compared to 760 combined remodels and relocations this year).

“We continue to believe that investing in the business through our high-return new store growth is the best use of our capital to help drive long-term shareholder value,” said Todd Vasos, Dollar General’s CEO. “Our new store growth is complemented with a significant increase in our store remodel program from fiscal 2017 that we view as an investment to enhance and consistently deliver on our brand promise to help our customers save time and money every day.”

YAY!! THE TRUMP ECONOMY IS WORKING!!!!

Boy, this corporation/colony is moving towards a bad spot!! Our manufacturing is all but done, the retail industry is imploding in our faces, infrastructure is a grade D, drugs are the biggest import, incarceration leads the whole world(slave labor).. Anyway, welcome to the new world!!!

Well the WORLD isn’t trying to use coal as much.

Other parts to relate to this, I think I read that GE’s stock is down 44%. I also heard a news story on NPR that the company is trying to slim down on the types of businesses they are invested in besides energy and technology.

Sarcasm Sidenote: :rolleyes2: It’s not like all of the green tech doesn’t use factories with people employees. It isn’t like major US manufacturers preferred to open plants in other countries to save on revenue.

Thread Title should be changed to it's either click bait or general electric are some incompetent Mofkrs.

Demand for alternative energy makes General Electric cut 12,000 jobs

Is there a net loss of 12k jobs? I ask because they should be transitioning towards the new technology. It's not like this change is unforeseen. Oil and Power been in research and development for a long ass time..

So they losing jobs or job titles since there will be a need for at least that amount in the new technology
