I only learned of this recently.... Cop City is some insanely asinine project in ATL to furbish these asshole cops with a mock-city to do their little fascist drills. AFAIK this project was hastily approved and took over a large swath of land which many folks were opposed to, primarily bc cops suck and are pretty ineffective by any realistic measure (and there are much better uses for the land). They don't need training as much as defunding in our particular American context imo. A lot of kids descended on the site to protest this project and this environmentalist kid was lit up by these pigs for no fucking reason.
I have some ideas as to why these types of stories are suppressed smh. Here's hoping the perps are held accountable and that this hastily imagined "Cop City" never sees the light of day.
I knew about cop city, but I didn't know any activist had been killed. Of course he wasn't black, so the majority of BGOL won't care and will continue to say no one else is fighting against injustice.
