I'm truly scared for my offspring. You should be too. We may make some adjustments to survive but it won't be living, it will be survival. And like the movies the old timers will tell tales of how it used to be. The young lads will only have books and videoes to see, but wow, "It must've been really great to catch fireflies" they will say. "Fishing from a lake or river must have been fun. Did you actually eat the fish and not get sick?" another will ask. And other young ones will look at old timers and spit at them, blame them for their illnesses or for a family members passing that was caused by pollution. Resource wars, Water wars, yeah look forward to that, hell we got that now. Governments/leaders aren't leading.
