DC's Lobo Movie Just Took A Big Step Forward

A ton of DC comics characters are on the way to theaters coming up, starting next week with Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Wonder Woman is getting her own solo movie after that, then there’s the Justice League movies, Aquaman, the Flash, and more in the works. There’s been talk of Lobo, about DC’s badass alien bounty hunter, for some time, but it seemed stalled out for a while. Now, however, the project has taken a big step forward, hiring a writer with a background in comic book movies.

According to The Wrap, Jason Fuchs has been hired to tack a whack at the script forLobo for Warner Bros. This will be his second consecutive comic book movie for WB, as he also penned the currently in production Wonder Woman, which stars Gal Gadot as the iconic Amazonian heroine, and Star Trek’ Captain Kirk, Chris Pine. If nothing else, this appears to indicate that the studio has faith in Fuchs’ ability within the comic book movie world.

Lobo is a cool ass character! I'm not going to lie he has a unique style to him that way too easy to fuck up..

I think this is great news.

In terms of the cinematic universe, I see it more like DC's Guardians of the Galaxy then a Deadpool.

Lots of places you can go with a Lobo script.

Yeah, I mean Im giving it a chance regardless. What if BvS is a miss but Suicide Squad is a hit?

The most important thing is that WB/DC need a long term plan and that all those movies fit in that plan.

I think that once you get past Justice League, guys like Lobo and Dr Fate are next up.

Ironically, as far as looks atleast, Jason Momoa nails the looks department. The other thing to consider is as of yet DC hasn't introduce their "Galaxy/Interstellar" storylines. So the question becomes when would Lobo fit in their timeline. After, The Green Lantern Corps movie which we assumes introduces the Interstaller DC Universe? If so, then we are talking about something in 2019-2021! That's a long ass time!

Dr. Fate would be CRAZY...actually that would work VERY well as a tv series and could be used to introduce all o f the DC magic characters.

I had hoped Constantine would do that.

Thats why the long term plan is whats most important. What world they introduce and when has to make sense. You can always have Lobo come to earth on a bounty hunt and just introduce other alien races like that without being in outerspace yet. I mean, theres lots of ways to do it.

Good point! But something like that would definitely have to be after JL 1! Iirc the movie line up following that is The Flash and Aqua man. I'm not sure in either of those storyline how you cameo someone like Lobo? But I'm sure the creatives minds could come up with something. A small side story to whatever movie ultimately leading up the the main plot and movie that is Lobo!
