DC COMICS IS ENDING THE NEW 52
924 "In this new era of storytelling, story will trump continuity."
BY JOSHUA YEHLDC Comics will end its New 52 imprint this June.

While the New 52 imprint is going away, the story continuity will remain the same, so this is not another reboot or a return to the pre-New 52 DC Universe.

As of June 3, the post-New 52 publishing line will consist of 24 brand new comics, and 25 ongoing comics that will continue without a break in their numbering. Guess “The New 49” just doesn’t sound as good.

“This heralds in a new era for the DC Universe which will allow us to publish something for everyone, be more expansive and modern in our approach and tell stories that better reflect the society around us,” said DC Entertainment Co-Publisher Dan DiDio in a press release. “Whether you’ve been a DC fan your whole life, or whether you are new to comics – there will be a book for you beginning in June.”

This relaunch will come after the end of April and May’s Convergence event, which sees different universes from DC’s multiverse brought together by Brainiac for a grand, devastating experiment.

The press release also details DC’s Free Comic Book Day offering -- DC Comics: Divergence.

Available for free from participating comic stores on May 2, it features three eight-page previews for the June releases of Batman by Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo, Justice League by Geoff Johns and Jason Fabok (featuring the Darkseid War of Darkseid vs. the Anti-Monitor), and Superman by Gene Luen Yang and John Romita, Jr.

 DC should change their name to Batman Comics because half the comics listed are batman related.

No Constantine

Looks like DC and Marvel need a new playbook. Secret Wars creating Battleworld on one end, Convergence making New 52 just DC on the other.

So they're not canceling anything. They're just rebranding. Good because i dug the fresh start for the new 52. Can't call it new anymore it's 5 years old now. And they're just launching books for the multiversity stuff. Which Grant was trying to do since Zero Hour i believe. Same shit diff decade.

Some stuff is getting cancelled. Check the second page in the link. Where the hell is Batwing?

I'm surprised he lasted this long. So called huge fans of Batman can't even name the damn character. And yes I mean some current white readers whose comments I have seen online in multiple places.

His reboot was one that I enjoyed the most. The stories read like a movie. But it seemed like they would release an issue every two months.

so the comics basically are remaining the same, its just that we wont be seeing THE NEW 52! on every cover

agreed

I was actually hoping that they would make the ORIGINAL Batwing meet the NEW one.

I fucks with that Grayson book glad to see they did shuffle that creative team.

I hope Warner gives Constantine another shot, let get Idris Elba in that role.

Instead of Dan Didio saying "The New 52 Started to Suck", Hes gonna say some shit like "This was in the works for 4 years. We knew it would go back since Flashpoint"

He said the same shit when New 52 came out...

Me too. I don't think they should have rebooted everything but I definitely was feeling the new designs.
