DC Showcase- The Spectre Short Film

Upcoming projects
[edit] Batman: Under the Red Hood
Main article: Batman: Under the Red Hood

This film has been announced as the next release following Crisis on Two Earths, and will be written by comic book scribe Judd Winick. It stars Bruce Greenwood (Star Trek) as Batman, Supernatural star Jensen Ackles as Red Hood, Neil Patrick Harris (How I Met Your Mother) as Nightwing, John DiMaggio (Futurama) as the Joker and Jason Isaacs (the Harry Potter films) as Ra's al Ghul.[3][4] This will be an adaptation of Winick's story "Under The Hood" from 2005 in the main Batman title, featured in issues #635-641.[5]
[edit] DC Showcase

DC Showcase will be a series of short-films focusing on DC characters who normally are unable to have a feature unto themselves. They are released as a co-feature with the main DC Original Animated Film. The first short film, based on The Spectre, is included with Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths. DC animation producer Alan Burnett has said that Green Arrow will have a short. Burnett also has said that most shorts will be ten minutes but a future unnamed one will be twenty minutes.[6]
[edit] Superman/Batman: Public Enemies sequel

After the positive sales of Superman/Batman: Public Enemies, a sequel in the Superman/Batman series has been rumored for 2010.[2]
[edit] Others
[edit] Teen Titans: The Judas Contract
Main article: Teen Titans#Teen Titans: The Judas Contract

Currently on hold, this story based on the comic by Marv Wolfman and George Pérez is planned as a DC Universe film.
[edit] Unannounced Projects

Beyond the list of announced projects, creators involved in various levels at DC Comics have brought up names of possible future projects such as The Flash. Justice League: Worlds Collide was also brought up as a possible return to the Justice League Unlimited animated series. However, when that series was canceled, the idea was modified into Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths by mostly retaining the same plot, but removing connections to the TV series. Bruce Timm has stated that he would like to do an Aquaman animated movie, and DC's executive editor Dan DiDio has expressed interest in seeing the popular Sinestro Corps War comic storyline adapted.[3]

Bruce Timm stated at San Diego Comic-Con International 2008 that there are several other projects they are interested in, among them saying he is extremely interested in a solo Catwoman film, saying "She could totally support her own movie, and she could erase the stain of that live-action movie." Although he and other producers stated what they are interested in and what are possibilities, he did not confirm any other films being in the process, except for the already confirmed films. Timm also said he hopes to return to his own style, as shown in Batman: The Animated Series and Superman: The Animated Series, saying "I hope to do something in my own personal style again--soon.", however he said the next film is an adaptation of a pre-existing comic and that he is enjoying adapting that artist's style. He may have been referring to his upcoming adaption of Judd Winick's, "Under the Hood."

That was cool. Reminded me of Golgo 13.
Did the Spectre always look like that in Human form? At first I thought it was Jason Blood (Etrigan)

Yeah pretty tight!! I was a Marvel head growing up and then transitioned into Image comics, so I don't know much. I always thought Dc comics was too ordinary. I wish I woulda gave it a chance because I'm loving all the DC animation that's being dropped. I think I had The Spectre toy as a kid tho.

I actually knew nothing 30 mins prior to me posting this. My homeboi wanted to put a list together of all the comic anime joints I had. I was too lazy to go downstairs to get my DVD book so I hopped on wiki. Who's says you can't be lazy and productive at the same time.

Marvel Comics animated films

In 1980, a Japanese animated television movie loosely based in The Tomb of Dracula comic book was released under the title Dracula: Sovereign of the Damned.

Since 2006, all animated films that have been released or have been announced are produced by Marvel Animation with Lionsgate Home Entertainment and are released direct-to-video. Once their deal expires, all futures animated films will be released by Disney, as the Walt Disney Company has bought Marvel Entertainment at the end of 2009.
Year Film
2006 Ultimate Avengers
Ultimate Avengers 2
2007 The Invincible Iron Man
Doctor Strange: The Sorcerer Supreme
2008 Next Avengers: Heroes of Tomorrow
2009 Hulk Vs
2010 Planet Hulk
Forthcoming
2011 Thor: Tales of Asgard

I'ma lil disappointed that unless something out of the blue, that Planet Hulk is the only marvel joint dropping this year.

After understanding the time I takes to produce an animated film/series (as much as 2 years according the Boondocks behind-the-scences footage), after all the success, you think they would have waaay more on deck! Boondocks goes to Japan for animation and back...not sure if DC and Marvel does the same.

*Edit* I hoping the Thor joint is the last film of the Lionsgate/Marvel joint venture and maybe they just haven't announced the new stuff since the Disney merger.
