Making the choice to shift my business from food blogging to an ecommerce company was a huge risk. I had never done business with overseas manufacturers and never even heard of something called a freight forwarder. I remember calling @pamelajbooker one day and saying, “Should I really be wiring THIS much money?” She laughed hysterically and said, “Yes!”
I didn’t just take a leap. I JUMPED. There was no Plan B. Plan A HAD to work. I didn’t have a home kitchen to create content in. My travel schedule meant less cooking live streams. But, one thing I know (and know well) is community and how to build it.
I leaned in and went to work. I knew I would lose some followers. But, I also knew I’d gain some as I shifted to focus on a high-value community. I saw my average order value go from $35 to $275. This meant that people with higher disposable incomes trusted my brand enough to increase their spend with me.
This happened because of you guys and your awesome support. And let this be a testament to whoever is reading this! God will always fulfill his promises concerning your life. I know it doesn’t look like it and those tears fall heavy. But, to the degree in which your tears fall is the degree in which your blessings will fall. May the value of your life and business increase to the point that haters, bushes, Roland Martin, Randy Travis, and any other news outlet can never stop the momentum you’ve built.
Now, 2023, let’s go!
