Dads of BGOL, how did you feel seeing your newborn for the first time?

Although my kids are grown now, the first time I saw my oldest I was amazed that I actually created a person, it was also a very humbling experience due to the realization that I am now responsible for the care and well-being of the baby. Also, the love I felt for the baby was beyond words.

Best feeling ever.

Watched both of them come out 25 mins apart.

Was not informed about that bookbag my wife had come out next!!

When I realized I was in love with my wife my whole perspective shifted: it was now 'us' instead of 'me.' When my first daughter was born and I held that little...human, my whole WORLD shifted. I knew right then and there that I'd give everything to protect her. The next three were the same but different. Like different favorite songs. Even now that they're grown if they stumble I feel like jumping up to catch them even though it's my old ass that needs the catching.

Both births were scary

oldest had her cord chokin her, she came out bluish

youngest had no heart beat, I watched staff do cpr, she began to breathe,

They had to go in and get my youngest via c-section. He refused to come out, and when they got him out, he was not happy.

I remember thinking my little guy is finally here as I cut the ambilocal cord. I was so over joyed to see my junior. I remember grabbing my wifes hand and saying you did it but she was clearly out of it. My concern immediately turned to her as they placed our son on her chest for skin to skin. My youngest son I remember being just as happy cutting the cord, then getting super nervous about the blood my wife loss and the blood transfusions needed. She's never been the same since that day four years ago.
