When I was growing up, when a character got shot in the face they would have black face from the gun powder. Muhfuckas considered that shit funny. With that said, that Howard clip (regardless of when it was produced) was unacceptable, offensive, and beyond the bounds of good taste or comedy. Howard did exactly what Joe Rogan is doing now, signaling to an entire segment of racists who will not fully embrace anyone unless they unequivocally indicated that they're on their team, and wiling to prove it by openly mocking and reducing black folks in ways that reaffirm stereotypes and dehumanize. It's more subtle now but it's the same thing. The next iteration will be the same shtick without the offensive use of the N word.
