I just looked at the NBA standings...

3 of the 8 playoofs spots in the East will be claimed by teams with losing records! And it is very possible 4 of the 8 teams the Eastern Confernce sends to the playoffs will have losing records!

cranrab, of all the stupid things I believe you have said, claiming that the Eastern Confernce is stronger than the Western Confernce is the absolute most absurd thing you have said!

eastern conference teams play the OVERWHELMING MAJORITY of their games against eastern conference teams... if eastern conference teams indeed have poor win loss records, doesn't it indicate that they are playing (and losing) in a STRONGER conference?

western conference teams play the OVERWHELMING MAJORITY of their games agaist western conference teams... if western conference teams indeed have good win loss records, doesn't it indicate that they are padding their stats with victories in a WEAKER conference?

as far as your posting of the conference v. conference win loss record, that only scratches the surface. when you provide CLEAR PROOF that EACH of the 8 western conference playoff teams have DOMINATED EACH of the 8 eastern conference playoff teams THIS SEASON in DIRECT HEAD TO HEAD competition, i will be the first to admit that you have SOUNDLY proven your point.

There is an obvious differnce between Pacific and Western (just like there is an obvious difference between Atlantic and Eastern). One refers to the the 5/6 teams in that divison and the other refers to the whole 16 team conference. You really don;t think there is a difference??? Stop trying to justify your ignorance.

The Eastern teams have generally been more defese oriented , western teams
more offensive oriented.

The team in the west that has traditionally played the best defense as a team is San Antonio and they have been the best in the last couple of years.
