Rank Kobe All-Time

Top 15 because MJ, Wilt, Big O, Russell, Magic, Kareem, Bird, Dream, Shaq, Duncan, Baylor & Moses were all better players, and I'd build a team around ANY of them before Kobe.

Top ten and still has a chance to move up. 2 more rings and I only put Jordan, Magic, Russell and Jabbar in front of him.

Top 15-20 I don't know how people put him above Shaq. Shaq had a good 5-7 years where he was the single most dominant force in the league. Shit to show how dominant he was even jordans bulls had to go recruit extra big bodies just for Him. If dude coulda shot 70% from the line i personally think shaq would have about 7/8 rings.

He's one of the greats. But I can't put him ahead of MJ, Wilt, Bill Russell, Bird, Magic. Probably in my top 10

he might crack the top 100 role players in the history of the league.

made the euro game palatable for american casual fans of basketball.

did to nba basketball what aerosmith did for rap.

streaky volume shooter at best, nothing remarkable or noteworthy as far as game is concerned.

If Kobe read this poll, I'm sure he'd go into a deep depression.

Dude wanted to be better than Mike, and the general consensus amongst basketball fans is he's, at best, ranked anywhere from number 10 to 15.

That is epic failure considering how high we KNOW he aimed.

dont think he would lose sleep over what a bunch of niggas who don't know him have to say:lol:

more like his stans would enter into hysterics.

the basketball-ignorant kids grew up to become basketball-ignorant adults. it shouldn't be any surprise that they over-estimate tobe's abilities.

plainly stated, tobe is a poor man's drazen petrovic in blackface.

im not a kobe fan but i love basketball and base on the era of ball I seen (grew up in MJ era) top 5 if not number 2 next MJ just based on what I got 2 grow up and watch

Come on, homie...

...we're all basketball fans, and to him, our opinions matter. Our opinions may not matter as much as, say, other NBA players - but knowing that a few dozen long-time basketball fans believing he fell far below his career goal, probably wouldn't sit too well with him.

8Ă— All-Defensive First Team
And for the life of me i cant understand how he made more than 3. Kobe has always been an overrated defender.

How can you say you grew up in the "MJ era" and rate Kobe as #2 overall? The fact that you saw Magic in his prime should prevent Kobe from being 1 or 2 in your list.

Personally i give him top 15 (he lost a ton of stock in my book with his post-shaq/pre-gasol antics and performance). But he will finish top 10 when its all said and done.

If he gets 5 more scoring titles, 2 more league mvp's, and 3 more league MVP's, I will put at #2. Even if he is on a team that wins 5 more championships, he can never be better than Jordan individually. Jordan held is own playing against or with 20 of the top 50 players of all time, including Tim Duncan, Allen Iverson, and Kobe.

He is a top 10 player, no doubt, can't front.

Nah because I feel that Shaq would have had a ring or 2 with Orlando. I really think that if Shaq hit them free throws they had a chance to win in 94/95/96

Shaq wasn't gonna win anything without a superstar teammate, and scoring 2 or 3 more PPG wouldn't have made any difference in Orlando.

I actually feel bad for the dude.

I've been following Kobe since he was in high school. I know how hard that dude has worked, and what his ambitions were.

To any other player, being considered a top 10-20 player would make them smile to ear to ear. However, when you strive to be the best at something - arguably working harder than anyone - and falling far short...

...that doesn't feel good. You don't chase a goal for over ten years, and when you don't accomplish, just be thankful for what you did accomplish.

Top 20 of all-time for sure

Can't put him in the top 10 because he was never on the level of Jordan, Magic, Bird, Wilt, Kareem, Shaq, Oscar, Hakeem, Duncan, Dr.J, Karl Malone or Mose Malone. So maybe top 15.

Are you serious? Fouling Shaq totally disrupted the gameplan, had he been a better shooter They wouldnt have employed the strategy, forcing them to double team and even MORE open shots for Dennis Scott and Nick Anderson, not to mention Penny Hardaway who was a star in his own right. It would have been much more than 2-3 points.

he's had a great career so why would you feel bad for him? He was never good enough to be a top 10-20 player of all time based on talent or basketball iq but he is definitely one of the luckiest players in sports history, at least in my lifetime.

as far as this thread, I see the media myths and cliches "hardest working player in the league". "look down defender", "deadly in the clutch", "closest to Jordan", etc are running rampant
