Cowboys move up RB Washington from practice squad
IRVING, Texas (AP)—Needing another running back, the Dallas Cowboys moved Chauncey Washington(notes) up to the 53-man roster on Saturday and are likely to have him active Sunday against the Denver Broncos.
The Cowboys released safety Marvin White(notes) to make room for him.
White had been contributing on special teams, but Washington can do that, too. He played for Cowboys special teams coach Joe DeCamillis in Jacksonville last season.
Washington also is expected to be the No. 3 running back, behind Marion Barber(notes) and Tashard Choice(notes). He replaces Felix Jones(notes), out with a sprained knee ligament.
