Could Reparations for Blacks become a Presidential campaign issue?

I was watching meet the press today and Chuck Todd asked Bernie Sanders why he was against reparations for African Americans. He then said well both Hillary Clinton and President Obama is against it too; then he tried to dodge the question and say Latinos are in poverty and we need to help all the poor. Todd came back at him saying you didn’t answer the questions and he just started to ramble about the rich and the economy.

I hope that the Black community will unite and make this a presidential campaign issue asked at every campaign stop. I hope someone will post the interview.

Not really. No matter what they say and who says it, Congress controls the money, and AIN'T NO WAY IN HELL they're going to approve that.

I didn't say we would get #reparations for #AfricanAmericans but to have them talk about this and what how they feel about the issue and what the solution is - would be a big gain on focusing on black issues in politics in the USA

But why make an issue out of the improbable? Bernie's mentioned it, as have Rand Paul.

You sound like whitey - I remember when whites use to say voting rights and affirmative action was an improbability. When you have the main stream political outlets like Meet The Press asking these type of questions we have an opening to get political active and move the issue.

It shouldn't be a campaign issue and if those who are proponents of preparations then they should organize a movement and put constant pressure on the political parties and media to make it an issue that is talked about consistently instead of using the Presidential election becauae by doing this it will die down once the election is over.

What's making it an issue in this election going to do? It's already being talked about. It has NO hope of ever getting through any Congress in the near future. What are you going to do, vote for the person that talks the most about it?

Man - if you don't know the answer to this you don't know politics and you deserve everything you don't get. Undocumented immigrants are being heard and getting all they ask for because they are willing to fight for their agenda.

It sounds like your willing to sit on your ass
