He didn't make a mistake. His demeanor was unbecoming of an officer.
it was a prime exampe of some former highschool loser trying to abuse his power, the asshole even pulled his gun on a unarmed man who did not show any type of threat and said his mother was dieing. being a cop is a job its no diffrent than working at burger king, you dont have to kiss their ass or give them no respect.Perhaps..but a resignable or firable offense it was not
Actually it was. If you watch that tape you can see the officer threaten, harass, and belittle a tax paying citizen. He also ignored proper procedure by acting as if this was a dangerous confrontation but not treating it as such by calling for back up or detaining those who fled. He then ignored instructions and advice of hospital personnel and a fellow law officer during the stop. This was a clear case of misuse AND abuse of his police powers. He was also incompetent and unprofessional. This was indeed a fireable offense.Perhaps..but a resignable or firable offense it was not

"As stated in another thread....
I was at another LE related BB today and a verified Dallas Police Officer stated that the real reason their Chief went nuts about all this is because after the stop is over....Powell is on his dash cam talking trash about the Chief, the Admin, and the Dept. to other Officers.....for about 6 mins or so before he turns it off and goes back into service.....
Opps......"
Funny, but at the same time sad, to think that Powell could have possibly been allowed to stick around had he not been mouthing off.
