Comedy Debate? Is Kevin Hart WRONG for not helping put his crew in his movies?

Nope.. As a person that's been around adult entertainment from parties to porno ( plus other bizzness situations outside adult entertainment) everything ain't for everybody, and everyone ain't useful to fill in some slots.. Have I put some people In positions to make bread ( yes) , but sometimes people can't be put into certain positions or sometimes people don't take their jobs seriousLy and can be more of a burden than a positive

Yes he is wrong, even a background character is better than nothing just so they can put it on their resume.
$150 for an extra role in a movie.. Do you think his friends would be happy with the money and being the guy in the background passing by holding some popcorn with 40 other extras in the background

Exactly. It wouldn't be enough for most. It's hard to tell some folks that you just ain't got the hustle. It's hard to tell people who you're close to that, "I'm not going to put you on," or "I'm not going to give you much if any money"

It's like winning the lottery. There are people who would get something significant from me, there are other people who wouldn't get shit. It is what it is, But you can't put everybody on for the same reasons you said brother.

Right now I can hear the, "this all I get?"

I'm not mad at Kev for that...while he looking out for them, he dont want them to be dependent on him to get roles...BTW, Spank is the funniest of all the plastic cup boyz IMO

I found the exchange interesting because EVERY point to the contrary was fair and valid. And I wasn't prepared to even humor the other side of the argument.

Yes Kevin could put them in his movies, all he ask was that they out in the work. And as it appears, they didn't put in the work.

While not on screen, they all have other jobs. And all of Kevin's Red Cup homies are millionaires.

Im not going to say background. I think they'd do a small appearance for free.
Assuming the shoot made the final cut, it could be impactful enough to job start your career.

In my opinion, to this day one of the funniest scenes from Kevin Heart was his exchange with Romany Malco in 40 year old virgin. Kevin Heart wasn't a big name at this point and it had to increase his profile.

I get that Kevin has taken them on tour and given them spotlight in that way. I think tv/movies is a different audience so it's a different exposure.

From the video,I respect both viewpoints. Im leaning more so with the guy in the White tee. Assuming the person is really a good or better fit than Kevin for the role. I think Black people have this mindset of earning something more so than other groups and sometimes it's to our detriment. There is a difference between putting someone on who isn't qualified vs someone who is capable or has potential. The same pride ( not negatively) stops capable people from reaching out to people who could help them. End of the day, who gives a fuck how you got there as long as you truly deserve to be there.

I also don't see anything wrong with Kevin saying I want to see you put the work in. That said, if I see you putting in the work id be open to talking to directors for you. Now if you seem to be more with the party side of being an entertainer. No, i don't believe Kevin should use his star power to help. Although as I mentioned before, the other groups don't care. Talent no talent or complete fuck up they are helping their friends and family. Black people tend to worry about how the person's behavior will reflect on them and i fully understand. Its hard to put another person on if the last man i recommend was a fuck up.
