Comcast cable vs Verizon FiOS vs Dish TV vs Direct TV

I was looking for a thread to speak on my 2 months of FIOS service after 5 years of having Optimum/Cable Vision gold package and five years of Comcast. First and foremost fuck Comcast. They are the worst. FIOS is superior to Optimum by far IMO. I say that for many reasons. Reason number one the picture quality is a lot better. the DVR service is also by far superior. I can turn the TV on to a show almost an hour after its already started and rewind it to the beginning. Then change channels by mistake and still come back and rewind back to where I left of. The DVR space is really good. I also couldn't help notice the Optimum commercial I only see on FIOS. The cord cutters commercial with 50 mbs Internet and a digital antenna for $25 a month. Not a bad deal but look what it had to come to for that offer to be seen. Oh and I can watch movies and live TV on my phone and tablet anywhere I have a connection instead of having to be in the house in WiFi with Optimum. Also the Optimum app stopped working more than two years ago and they had no resolution. Oh and it costs less money and I have way more channels plus youtube which my children love. So if you're going to shop for TV service give Verizon FIOS TV a try. They're Internet service is also way better that what I was getting with optimum.

That Uverse looks nice

you can have one cable box & view your recordings in any tv in the house

but is not available in my area

FIOS TV does that as well.

Comcast has an iPad/iPhone app that is very nice -- remote control / tv guide / watch on demand from your iPad. Shit is hot.

Internet ain't bad if u pay top dollar.

Direct TV has an app as well.

I still use comcast internet....waiting to see if AT&T improves theirs now they they are merged with Direct TV

FIOS TV does that as well.
FiOS is IMO the best option in NYC-
also depending on how you start your service with them you could get 1 or 2 premium channels free for 2 years and a cable&internet bill under $60 /month even with taxes and fees included

fuck Comcast....i hate them sons of bitches

they slow my internet every night between 6 and 12 like clockwork...

speed test show only 3-4 megs download and i pay for 25-30

and don't give me that bullshit about everyone is using it at the same time or the speed drops would be more random

they are throttling and they know it....sometime i can't even log on to netflix or the shit only streams at blurry 240p...

...and it's the only internet can get at my house

is it worth it to you to pay extra for a business account with them?

I have directv and fios internet.

Directv is straight. Got the genie and the wireless clients. The 2 year agreement is rough but now I'm 12 months at a time. I call in when my 12 months are up and get Sunday ticket for free each year as well as other freebies. My bill averages around 90 including all premium channels (don't know an exact figure because the discounts are all over the place ).

How?

Just get Direct TV for TV and FIOS for internet. Unless you're will to pay and want to get the FIOS TV for those rainy days depending on your region. Oh and it's easiest when you are doing it from a house. They don't often afford the same options to apartments which is fucked up.

This except that i have comcast Internet.

I call direct tv at the end of my contract and get hooked up, the picture is always good and they have all there movie channels in HD, it may go out in bad rain storms but you can still watch dvr shows if the signal is out
