CLEVELAND -- Cleveland Browns quarterback Brian Hoyer left with a right knee injury less than five minutes into Thursday night's game against the Buffalo Bills, and his return was called questionable by the team.
Hoyer, who had gone from third string to starter and led the Browns to two victories, walked to the locker room under his own power. He walked with a limp, though.
Hoyer was hurt when he was hit as he slid by Bills linebacker Kiko Alonso. It appeared he hit Hoyer high, but Alonso was in a tough spot, moving with full momentum toward Hoyer when the quarterback started his slide.
The impact led to Hoyer's legs being caught under him awkwardly.
Brandon Weeden replaced Hoyer, and missed badly on his first two throws. Weeden had missed the previous two games with a sprained thumb.
