A Cincinnati sheriff’s deputy was fatally struck by a car driven by the father of an armed 18-year-old man who was shot and killed by police a day earlier, authorities say.

The driver “in a way that was calculated and premeditated lined up his car, deliberately accelerated his car and purposely caused the death of an on-duty deputy sheriff,” prosecuting attorney Ryan Nelson said Saturday morning at the father’s arraignment.

“It appeared from everybody who was on the scene that he deliberately struck the deputy in an attempt to kill him,” Nelson said.

Prosecutors are seeking an indictment for aggravated murder, Nelson said.

Authorities have not said whether the suspect had any connection to the deputy.

The defendant, Rodney Hinton Jr., 38, is the father of a man who was fatally shot by Cincinnati police on Thursday morning, Cincinnati Police Chief Teresa Theetge said. On Friday night, police identified the 18-year-old as Ryan Hinton, according to CNN affiliate WCPO.

This is what happens when you know that there will be no justice if warranted for your loved one.

Others will wait for justice….for us there’s no justice…..just us.

I feel for the family

Carry on…….

From the article

“I want to point out…from the time they bailed from the vehicle and police were chasing them to the time the individual was shot – six seconds. Six quick seconds,” Theetge said, calling it “unreasonable” to expect the officers “to process and determine a different course of action” in such a short time."

You can decide that your life was in danger /you feared for your life and the only course of action was to fire 4/5 rounds and kill the kid.....

Yet actually taking a second to process that he's running away / the gun wasn't pointed at you.

That was too much.*

* I say this based on a description of the body cam footage, I didn't actually view said footage.

I hope he didn't have any other kids that needed him in their lives.

Plus, why not go after the damn cop that shot your son?!!!

If you're going to avenge your son, get the one that pulled the trigger.

I guess dude snapped.

He was notified around 11am about his son's death. He killed the other officer at 1pm.....

He clearly wasn't thinking straight......

His son stole a car , was armed and running from police and you defending that? I think we all know what happens if you steal a car and run from the police with a gun. If an armed nigga stole your car from your house what would you do? Let him just take it? Fuck a thief

So he kills a cop that had nothing to do with his son and yall cheering that? Thats like a bus driver killing your kid and you get on a random bus and kill an innocent man. Ain’t shit to cheer about here. It’s pure ignorance. Now he’s about to do life and ruin his family some more

They don't have evidence of his intent, it is manslaughter. That is the bullshit they have told me.

Do they have evidence of him planning?

It is coincidence that this manslaughter took place after his son was killed.

The father killed the cop -- unconnected to his son's shooting death -- approx. 2 hours after learning of his son's death. He was in the initial phases of the 7 stages of grief: "Shock -- denial & anger!" A smart defense atty can argue temporary insanity as a defense! As for the dead son: The unwritten cop rule: "Run from us -- you get a beatdown and/or shot!" Most seasoned street thugs are aware of this street rule. This kid was 18!

Love when l.e. make their narratives dovetail perfectly...seems it didn't dovetail at all for dad..RIP

exactly people are really cheering his actions? what if that innocent cop was your family member. Like someone else said if he killed the cop who shot his son. Ok that's at least eye for an eye. To target a random cop is super bitch made

now this family has lost two people
this idiot probably won't even be able to bury his son
this was very very stupid.
at least bury your son before you go crash out

The sheriffs/prosecutor need psychiatric treatment, it is just a random tragedy. I am not seeing the connection to murder.

Look at them, ganging up on him in the courtroom.

Keep your white retarded filth away from me, when it happens to you shit is no longer giggles and a stupid smirk.

It’s just stupid at this point. Niggas cheering on criminals now. What if that nigga stole your sisters car? He wasn’t some innocent 18 year old holding a cell phone and a bag of candy. All police have authority to shoot an armed criminal fleeing because they are a danger to the public. He could have carjacked somebody or shot a random person because he got startled. Stop cheerleading this bullshit. It feels like hating random cops is some badge of honor around here . Fuck all criminals. Our communities are terrorized by these trash ass niggas , I’m sick of it

Our community is terrorized by both cops and criminals. One group escapes justice every time. There are no innocent cops because they overlook the bullshit the crooked ones do. So yes from time to time we will celebrate the little justice that cops finally receive. If you can’t be down with that kindly sit the fuck down and let the rest of us enjoy the day. I think I’ll BBQ some ribs tomorrow.

Bullshit , cops ain’t terrorizing shit. How many cops contribute to our murder rates in comparison. There’s 1 million cops in America how many of them are killing Black men in comparison to other Black men? To deny we killing each other in absurd numbers is just non sense. I come from a city with a crazy murder rate and it ain’t cops doing it

Many law enforcement are dirty, one of the tactics they might use on you is popping you for speeding or expired tags when you go on your first day of a job. Hoping you will get desperate and bump the charges up to some felony trying to resist them. I have seen them do this boarding planes, knowing you have to be somewhere, the person acts a fool and goes to jail.

They could have timed his son's arrest for a stolen vehicle, hoping he would reach for a weapon.
