“Saturday Night Live” alum Chris Kattan alleges Lorne Michaels pressured him to have sex with “Clueless” filmmaker Amy Heckerling in order to keep her attached as director on the 1998 comedy film, “A Night at the Roxbury.” Kattan wrote the movie with Will Ferrell and Steve Koren based on the “SNL” sketch featuring the popular characters of Steve and Doug Butabi. The actor makes the allegation about Michaels in his new memoir, “Baby Don’t Hurt Me.”

Kattan writes in the book (via Page Six and The Daily Beast) that Heckerling made advances towards him in the early stages of developing the movie when she was attached as director. Kattan was 27 years old at the time and declined a physical encounter with Heckerling. Kattan says he got a call from “SNL” creator Lorne Michaels afterwards informing him that Heckerling was considering dropping out of the project. Kattan writes that Michaels was “furious” and allegedly told him, “Chris, I’m not saying you have to fuck her, but it wouldn’t hurt.” Michaels allegedly said Paramount would only make the “Roxbury” movie if Heckerling was attached as the director, so if Kattan “wanted to make sure the movie happened, then [he] had to keep Amy happy.”

Kattan writes that he gave in to Michaels’ request and had sex with Heckerling on the couch in her office. The actor maintains the sex was consensual but says that he “was very afraid of the power she and Lorne wielded over my career.”

“She thought it would be fun to have sex on Lorne’s desk,” Kattan writes in the book. “Wow, what a great idea! Jesus Christ. I said a polite ‘Fuck, no!’ to that, so we ended up going to her office and having sex on… yep, you guessed it, the ‘casting couch.’”

An ‘SNL’ spokesperson denied Kattan’s claims to Page Six, saying, “This did not happen.” The rep told IndieWire Kattan’s book was published without any fact checking. IndieWire has also reached to to reps for Heckerling and Kattan. John Fortenberry ended up directing the movie, but Heckerling served as producer alongside Michaels. Kattan’s book, “Baby Don’t Hurt Me,” also features stories about his opioid addiction and a life-threatening neck injury he endured during an “SNL” sketch. The book is now available for purchase.

The famously private director Amy Hecklering hasn’t yet commented on the allegations in Chris Kattan’s recent memoir that he was coerced into having sex with her during the production of A Night at the Roxbury, but her daughter Mollie is now speaking up.

Earlier this week, “Page Six” reported on allegations made in Kattan’s new book, Baby, Don’t Hurt Me, in which heclaims thatLorne Michaels pressured him to sleep with Heckerlingto ensure her involvement in A Night at the Roxbury. Kattan alleges that after he initially rejected Heckerling’s advances, Michaels called him the next day, upset that Heckerling was possibly going to back out of the project. He then allegedly told Kattan that Paramount wouldn’t make the movie without Heckerling as director and instructed Kattan to “keep Amy happy.” “Chris, I’m not saying you have to fuck her, but it wouldn’t hurt,” Michaels supposedly said in a phone conversation with Kattan.

SNL denied the allegations. “This did not happen,” a rep told “Page Six,” adding that the show was never contacted by the publisher to verify Kattan’s claims. Mollie then posted a statement to Twitterin which she recounted her memory of her mother’s relationship to Kattan. “I saw no evidence of her seeing, or even talking to Chris Kattan during pre-production; rather, she was working vigorously with Steve Koren every day to help improve the script,” she tweeted. “During the actual shoot, she and Chris became close and he would call our house EVERY NIGHT to talk to her for hours about how he felt like he wasn’t getting the best sketches on SNL. She and Chris started having an affair but, as far as I know, it wasn’t until shooting was well under way.”

She went on to describe how the relationship affected her mother’s well-being: “Chris told her that when he informed Lorne Michael’s that they were seeing each other, Lorne said, ‘What do you want to date her for? She’s so old.’ My mom spiraled into a massive eating disorder while dating Chris because she was insecure about their age difference, and then Chris ultimately went and cheated on her with Elisa Donovan who played Amber in Clueless and also had a role in A Night at the Roxbury.”

In a statement to Vulture, Mollie clarified her tweets, writing, “This is all kind of a mess and I feel bad for multiple reasons about it — especially since I am a die hard supporter of MeToo and definitely don’t want to seem insensitive to so many people’s accounts of sexual misconduct.” She added that her mother is an “extraordinarily private person” and that “she didn’t want to comment on this because she felt as though her responding would further fuel the story.” She also hoped that all of the involved parties would speak up: “I really wish Lorne Michaels would step forward.”

“Saturday Night Live” alum Chris Kattan claims in a new book that his friendship with “A Night at the Roxbury” co-star Will Ferrell was destroyed over an on-set relationship with the film’s would-be director — which he says producer Lorne Michaels pressured him into.

In his explosive memoir, “Baby, Don’t Hurt Me,”Kattan revealed Michaels encouraged him to have sex with Amy Heckerling so she would stay attached to the 1990s comedy film.

Kattan, then 27, said he initially rebuffed 43-year-old Heckerling’s advances, but relented following a “furious” call from Michaels claiming the director might back out of the project.

The secret dalliances with Heckerling ultimately put a strain on his relationship with co-star Ferrell, according to Kattan.

“I had tried to hide my relationship with Amy, not realizing how obvious it had been to everyone else, including Will (not to mention that Lorne told him about it in the first place),” Kattan wrote.

Heckerling ended up signing on as a producer on the movie, with John Fortenberry directing.

After the movie wrapped, Ferrell stopped responding to his calls and didn’t speak to him until they both returned to the “SNL” set for Season 23.

“So, I got all your messages, but I didn’t call you back because I didn’t want to talk to you,” Ferrell allegedly told Kattan.

Without citing a reason, Ferrell reportedly told his colleague that “I don’t want to be your friend anymore. I’m going to be professional and still work with you on the show, but that’s it.”

Kattan, however, said it was clear what was causing Ferrell’s hurt.

“I didn’t know or hadn’t let myself see until that moment that although the situation with Amy hadn’t directly involved Will, my actions and dishonesty had made him feel deceived and betrayed,” Kattan said.

“And now everything Will and I had done and shared — everything that had made us feel like a team, that incredible amount of trust that been built up — was broken,” he said.

A rep for Ferrell didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.

An “SNL” spokesperson denied Kattan’s claims about Michaels, saying, “This did not happen.”

Ain't no amount of fucking that could have saved that movie. Maybe the only really unfunny Will Ferrell been in.

It had it's moments...so bad it was good, especially if you saw it with a bunch of college friends

I used to like the sketch, never saw the movie. I figured it was funny for five minutes but was very skeptical about stretching it to 90-120 minutes.

It was better than that Tom Green movie. That shit was by far the worst movie I've ever seen. It was so bad it had me dying laughing.

I don't understand how/why Lorne Michaels is being dragged into this. Kattan asked Lorne's opinion and he said "Hey, it couldn't hurt." Lorne did not hook them up or had anything to do with what Kappan admits was a consensual relationship between two adults. No wonder Will Ferrell stopped fucking with him! :curse:

You skipped the part about Lorne allegedly being furious when he wouldn't hit it.

If the story is true I believe Lorne pressured him.

Amy Heckerling's plate of films speaks for themselves

"A NIGHT AT THE ROXBURY" sure as HELL wasn't one of her great works.
Shit was a major blot.

Chris kattan has been doing some odd as shit lately.

Dude also said that he injured himself during a sketch and was told to hide it.

Former “SNL” star Chris Kattan suffered a neck injury that almost paralyzed him on the set of the show, then became addicted to prescription pills to deal with the crippling pain, according to the comedian’s upcoming memoir.

Kattan, 48, who was featured on the NBC hit from 1996 to 2003, hurt his neck in 2001 when he fell back in a chair that he had previously told the show wasn’t safe, says Variety.

The revelation is found in his forthcoming book, “Baby Don’t Hurt Me: Stories and Scars from ‘Saturday Night Live,’” which is due out May 7. Variety obtained a copy.

Kattan also told the mag that he spoke to “SNL” executive producer Lorne Michaels about his injury, and that Michaels encouraged him to seek medical attention.

Kattan said the show paid for two of his five surgeries.

But the actor said he regrets not pushing “SNL” to provide additional care for him — given how much the injury impacted the next 18 years of his life.

“Had I known how everything would end up I would have been better off saying something about it, as opposed to being quiet because I thought it would get in the way of work,” he told Variety.
