Chisel Check: How much u bench press??

I'm up to 155. Goal is 200 by the New Year!!!

you should be able to lift your own body weight 3 to 5 times

but im somwhere around 315 to 365 2 to 3 times... now watch me get clowned
 
You mean max out or how much can we go on our own?

I've never maxed out but i normally bench 160-165 without a spot.

i can go for about 275, 8 reps without being spotted.
but for the most part i usually do about 250 and try to work on proper lifting.

I used to get into this stuff. When I played college football I was up to 400lbs. Now my trainer tells me I don't have to lift that much, just 135 4 sets 10 reps. lift light weight with high reps and save your shoulders, elbows and wrists.

I'm 170 @ 6'0. I've reached this point now. I'm going for 175. I've been benching the whole week and I add weight gradually the duration of the week. 150-155 155-160-160-165-> I might hit 165 for another two weeks before I try 17o-175 though.:cool:
 
Im 5'11, 250bs. I bench 405 now. I have been out of school for two years now. Right before I graduated in 05 I maxed out at 455.
 
i measure my strength like the college and pros do at the combines.

i count how many times i can bench press 225 lbs in one set. my personal best so far is 18 reps. :yes:

and for the record, that's doing them correctly = 4 seconds on the negative, 2 seconds on the positive.
 
At my peak in college and a few years after while I weighed in at 225 lbs ripped:

225 lbs - 25 times

275 lbs - 15 times

365 lbs - 3 times (slow and controlled reps)

420+ lbs - 1 time

Squat 685 lbs

I'll agree with some of the other posters. Its not about pumping 300lbs this and that many times. You can bench like 150lbs with 3 sets of 15 and have a great looking body. Personally I don't even do the bench press when I go to the gym. I do other chest exercises and sometimes throw in some pushups.
 
I'm not really doing flat baench right now. Last, I did I could push 315lbs 6X. Right now, I'm inclining 295lbs.
 
Man I never was a bench person cause I separated my shoulder and never could get my strength back to where it use to be. In college my Max on the bench was 275lbs but my main focus was squat and my max on squat was 675lbs. Right now I really don't focus on maxing out when I lift......i'm more focused on doing more reps to have more definition as oppose to having more bulk
