Chinese Police trying to revive a kid after he was saved from the nearby river

It is a noble thing they are trying to do, but sad to see how stupid and prehistoric their way of reviving this poor kid is. As law enforcement officers they should get basic training to be able to conduct first aid on a patient.

Prehistoric? What were they supposed to do CPR?
What I saw them doing was using Heimlich and inversion combo techniques on a drowning victim and rightfully so.

Poor child. At least he looked like he was conscious at the end despite the primitive methods used by the police officers. You'd expect first responders to be trained in first aid.

Stick around man, any expectations of human kindness and respect or competence will soon evaporate the more you watch of these 'people'.

basic procedures of breath are:
liberate the airways (with caution as there may be damage to the cervix)
loosen the victim's clothing, especially around the neck, chest and waist;
check for any thing or object obstructing the mouth or throat of the victim;
start rescue breathing as soon as the victim has been placed in position. Every second is precious.
The basic procedures of cardiac massage are:
place the victim lying on his back on a hard surface in the supine position;
put your hands super More..

It is obvious we all need to educate ourselves more on this. I just checked out that youtube video link and that technique without breathing is for people that have no training so it is better than nothing. But if you know how to provide breaths then that is better. In other words if you have kids or you want to be able to save someone in this situation then go get trained on it or at least take your time and research it well on the internet which is what I did

Shaking the water out of his lungs was not the worst idea.
But after that proper CPR should be practised:

I am glad the boy survived in the end.

it's called 'the inversion technique' and its a legit way to do CPR<object width="450" height="370"><param name="movie" value="http://www.liveleak.com/e/147_1324568549"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.liveleak.com/e/147_1324568549" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" allowscriptaccess="always" width="450" height="370"></embed></object>
