China To Take Over Zambia’s International Airport For Debt Repayment Default...

The Zambian government contracted the Chinese, lazy-thought and glossed over details thinking they were granting consent to genuine terms but the whole thing just morphed into modern day colonialism. China is now proposing to take over the Kenneth Kaunda International Airport should Zambia Government fail to pay back its huge foreign debt on time. The issue of whether Zambia posses the required economic muscle to repay that debt is in contention considering the amount involved. It’s typical of the Chinese strategy.

That moreover is not the only thing Zambian suffered from China; the Chinese own 60% shares of the Zambian National Broadcasting corporation which means, Chinese have an influence over what should or should not be premiered on their sets.

The respected Africa Confidential has revealed that talks are underway for a Chinese company to takeover power utility ZESCO.

And Africa Confidential has warned that Zambia risks losing its sovereignty to China as that country will seize national assets once government defaults on loans.

In a report titled ‘Bonds, bills and ever bigger debts’ published on September 3, Africa Confidential observed that ZNBC was already being run by the Chinese and disclosed that Zesco was also already in talks about a takeover by a Chinese company.

“A major worry of the IMF and US is that China’s BRI strategy is first to encourage indebtedness, and then to take over strategic national assets when debtors default on repayments. The state electricity company Zesco is already in talks about a takeover by a Chinese company, AC has learned. The state-owned TV and radio news channel ZNBC is already Chinese-owned. The long-term outcome could be effective Chinese ownership of the commanding heights of the economy and potentially the biggest loss of national sovereignty since independence,” the report read.

Better terms than the West is still no excuse for African leaders to forget that Africa has no friends....I suspect that some in power are taking a cut from these China deals and dont give a fuck...I am pretty sure that that is what's happening in Jamaica with the Chinese....fuckers doing road improvements all over the island which is a good thing but not the most critical thing and the island cant pay for them....pretty obvious that there is major corruption going on

China gonna have them wearing dashikis while making shrimp fried rice & eggrolls ...… in no time...there will be Chinese restaurants every couple of blocks....:hmm:

.

All them resources in africa are just for pimping by outside influences...

But a majority of it is Africa's fault everyone is tribal...

Africa doesn't have a one people one land philosophy and therefore they are weak to the divide and conquer game

Instead of the let's work together and build game...

Every non black person on the planet knows how to tap into black peoples "need to be loved by non blacks" and exploits it.
It’s not even the need to be loved by others that’s the problem. The problem is the continue staying weak, looking for saviors, handouts and not starting to learn the game the rest of the world is playing them. It’s insane to think that those leaders did not have leaders that are smart enough to use an attorney to read the contract or it show the underlying problem with the continent: no smart leaders in the room there that will lead their people to respectability.

I can see why the EFF leader is talking about a united states of Africa. If they ever get control of the whole land they should change the name of Africa. It is strange being born black in a world molded by whites. Every other race like the Chinese support white supremacy because they are more like the devil in hair and all than like the original. But that is how Africa has always been ruled. They forced parts to borrow money with incredible interest. When all along there should have been no reason for outside investment. Another thing Julius trying to do if he gets in office next year is for blacks to build their own economy.
I tell you we did not start out primitive with spears and drums. We started out with technology more advanced than what we have today. But during those years we only ate raw fruits and vegetables and the foods out of the bee hive. What got into us to be controlled from outside forces. The first time any human ever ate the poisonous flesh.

Guess we got to get a grip or stay asleep. Going back to sleep we will end up in a worse condition than slavery in the plantation days.

All this started when that cocksucker Akon thought he could bring Electricity to all those people in Africa that didn't have it. His deals were all contingent on Chinese Manufacturers being part of them.

It's a simple thing really. But it's boring and can be expensive. It also requires dedicated people who are willing to sacrifice. It's called EDUCATION.

The first thing colonizers eradicate is any type of education system and install their own propaganda machine.

Afrika is woefully undereducated. And this leads to short-term thinking and planning. It's how they get into these disastrous contracts.

Not to mention still suffering from the mental fuckery of colonization which still tells them (us) the white man is the right man.

If you improve roads, you improve transport of goods. Which in turns increases exports and grows the economy. That's why those roads are very very important. Jamaica has one of the highest grade coffee beans in the world, that alone is worth the roads and highways being built. The problem is not the Chinese, the problem is local graft.

Chinese are dominating. What I find funny is how many Africans always passing judgement on black Americans but they don’t like people criticizing them about Asians dominating them.

We talk about them coming here advancing so they should show that same effort in Africa. Chinese don’t care about those Africans it’s the resources.

Another thing I don’t like is when people tell black Americans to fix up and help Africa. That’s not their responsibility to do. If they want yes but don’t make it as if it’s their responsibility.

Man I actually think some countries are starting to realize this

What I am saying is that the scale of Chinese involvement would not be as great as it is without local graft...I know how important road improvements are and the North South Highway was especially needed but there is so much Chinese involvement in other road improvement areas in a nation where IMF mandated reforms are being slowly and silently implemented....you understand what I am saying?....dealing with IMF on one hand and becoming more indebted to China on the other...a non corrupt Govt would have put the breaks on some of the activities....all this is against the backdrop of Jamaican construction companies complaining that they are being forced out because they cant compete with the Chinese...it is clear that some money exchanging hands behind the scenes

Here goes this coon taking his usual shot at Africans again. Kill yourself bitch

I personally do not care to say more on this forum than I want to,
but since this is becoming self-fuelled hyperventilation about a
situation and a country all but a handful of you even knew existed
until this headline, let me clarify a few things

a) The debt in question was not to the country; it was to Lungu's
political party, the bankrupt so-called Patriotic Front, which
went on to decisively lose the elections, but rigged and has
remained in power by intimidation...His party needed the
money to contest the last general elections in 2016

b) The constitution of Zambia is very clear: Lungu cannot
run for president again as he has been sworn twice, even if
the last swearing was by relative or close friend, since every
reputable magistrate refused to ratify his usurpation of power
after an election in which the will of the people clearly was at
odds with his designs and desires

c) Lungu is having a difficult time trying to convince the
constitutional court that he should be allowed to contest one
more term of the presidency given what the constitution
stipulates explicitly

d) Whoever comes into power does not have to honour this
ignoble and ignominous bargain Lungu has made with the
Chinese; and Zambia established this precedent when Lungu's
predecessor siezed the telecommunications company from
LPL Green of Lybia, which had invested US$260 million in
it under Gaddafi. With the Libyan leader dead, Michael Sata
reneged on the deal, and I do believe that legal proceedings
are under way on the matter..

I have said more than I really wanted, and that is all I am
going to say
You’re a cracka from Dallas, shut the fuck up

You are living in the American bubble and your lack of understanding of geopolitics is obvious. You need to understand that:

1. Everyone practices Tribalism in one form or another.

2. Everyone often look out for their own best interest and at least they would only look out for their own people.

3. The continent contains thousands of ethnic groups that speaks their own languages, if all Black in this country that speak the same cannot come together for a common goal, what makes you think it will be easy to do the same.

People point out that the Asians and European are banding together to get things done but many of you have to realize that Asians European committed acts of genocide and forced assimilation to get people together under a single banner and goal.

What does need to happen to happen is that these African and other Black nation need to start to fend for themselves and quit giving away the farm for pittance.

This is not the end of this matter. And that is all I am going
to say.
true i believe they gonna settle it b4 shit hits the fan hard but..... the fact they "allowed" it to get to that state its in is just infuriating to see this shit and we all trynna shout out loud to african leaders how the chinese aint really their friends either ,perhaps better business "partners" than the west but def not our friends

your assumptions are lacking...

who doesnt know of the bloodshed and genocide that has taken place in asia and europe...

thats another topic for another time...

this is about africa being exploited by europeans and now by asians...

africa should be home base for africans of the diaspora...

instead of a shopping mall of resources for europeans and now asians..

the fact remains their tribalism has been used as a weapon against them...

by outside forces who studied them, infiltrated and came in for the kill...

and tribalism made it all too easy...

Great post! I think Iraq and Afghanistan are the same way...just saying.

Why is this different from any other business decision? You take a risk, you pay.

If Zambians took a risk beyond their measure and lost. Why blame China for it?

you maybe right care to elaborate....?

Both countries don't really seem to have a sense of patriotism. They kinda stick to their own area/province/village for the most part. I've been there 3 times (Iraq once, Afghanistan twice) and seen how easy it is to divide and conquer when you only have contend with a series of groups versus an entire country.
