We no longer have the political will to do major projects. We have short term way of thinking that causes polititcians to not want to do projects that will take longer than they are potentially in power. There were so many major water and wastewater projects that were scrapped when Trump came into office. Not because they weren't needed but just because of politics. The chinese plan generationally. They have been planning to beat America for the past 70 years at least and have had a consistent plan to do it and have stuck to it. Even if we are faster and better we can't beat consistency. That is the fatal flaw in our system and with social media they can now push the pendulum of that inconsistency so that it moves even faster. We are lost thinking in 4 year cycles.
