Chicken factory workers forced to where Diapers? Huh!?

I spent about 5 years in a chicken plant. It ain't that bad. This story is just to sensationalize the plight of poultry workers. I've worked on the exact same lines shown in the video and under normal circumstances nobody had to be out there with diapers on.

If it wasn't that bad then why did you leave?

Well for lots of reasons. It was a job I worked to get through college. I wasn't looking for a career in poultry. I needed to make more money and eventually the plant got bought out and closed. It was just a stepping stone while I was a student.

I assume you are no longer a student so taking money out of the equation which employer do you feel treated you better the chicken plant or your current employer?
The point I’m making your experience doesn’t equate to other experiences. It’s like saying all farm animals on every farm is treated the same regardless to the size of the farm.

I see your point, but the place I worked was actually mentioned in the report. I can personally testify to the conditions there. Now this was back in the early to mid 90s so unless it took a drastic turn when I left I can honestly say that the people were not treated that way. When I left I was a supervisor and I can tell you that if a supervisor didn't let his worker use the restroom they would be in a world of shit. The redundancies built into the process account for people being absent in their job. If you gotta go and no one can relieve you then fuck it! You just go! Those birds will be alright! To answer your question I work in a professional capacity now so comparing my current employer to the chicken plant is like night and day. I'm treated a lot better now because of the nature of my job and the organization I work for. Plant work is wage grade labor for the unskilled. Its a completely different environment, but it never felt like a sweat shop.

:roflmao::roflmao3: That shit is slave labor!
A lot of my clients work @ the chicken plant. You gotta dress hella warm all year round cause it's cold as fuck inside.

Chicken catchers make the most to my understanding.

It stinks!!!!!!!! You can smell that shit passing it on the highway.

They treat the employees like shit!
No real job security.

I truly respect your response and that’s reasonable for me to take your word about this situation. Thrive on Bro!
