Oh, wow.
Yeah, that was a valid termination. What's crazy is that she, most likely, was an excellent teacher. But these children will take you "there."
I'm a special end teacher so I "push-in" to the general ed classes. In the math classes, I work with a Chinese teacher. Dude is mathematically brilliant, but he isn't the best English speaker. And boy, does he be going off:
You no appreciate your freedom!!! Why is it class only get quiet when teacher get mad??? You want angry teacher!!! Stuuuuuupid!!! You stuuuuuuupid."
He called security on this one student to have him removed. When they showed up, he yelled about the student, "He is trying to destroy my classroom!!!" I almost unleashed a guffaw myself. I swear to God I'm not making this shit up.
But, yeah. You never try to disparage the children - especially with language laced with inappropriate profanity. Even though it seems like that's the only way they truly understand you.
You stupid mother fucker... You ain't never going to be shit... Um, yeah. You shouldn't go off on students, but I understand how they take you there. As someone said, they don't listen until you get mad nowadays. Kids aren't taught respect and don't know how to respect anybody. They care more about getting a rise out of their classmates and getting a laughThe truth hurts?

I believe more warnings should be given especially for events that have never happened in the past. If cops didn't get off from killing people, a teacher can get off from a one-time event from going off on a student. It shouldn't happen all the time, but you should get at least one warning
No matter how hard we try, there is one teacher we will never be better than and that's these kids' real life experiences.I feel for that woman, but that is also why I will not be a teacher. The youth need help but they won't be getting it from me.
For some of them they have the same things to worry about that an adult would(shelter, food, clothes, right and wrong decisions) and it can be hard for us to remember that when they enter a classroom and revert back to childish negative behavior which is something they can't afford to do outside of school.real life experiences
Yeah, that's true. I got sixth graders who cannot even enjoy being children when they get home from school. Why? They have to take care of younger siblings all through the night like a parent. For some of them they have the same things to worry about that an adult would(shelter, food, clothes, right and wrong decisions) and it can be hard for us to remember that when they enter a classroom and revert back to childish negative behavior which is something they can't afford to do outside of school.
Yeah she lost it , shorty was saying some really bad things to her that made her flip outShe had enough that day

...I can't call it. No child should be told that regardless of the situation. But at the same time, these are the consequences of Rham Emmanuel's education reform and busting of the Chicago Teachers Union.
"Don't push me, cause I'm close to the edge." This is the edge.
yeah man i also have a 6th grader like that this year.Yeah, that's true. I got sixth graders who cannot even enjoy being children when they get home from school. Why? They have to take care of younger siblings all through the night like a parent.
But that's where cultural responsiveness comes into play for educators.
If it was that easy I'm sure she would have done, a lot of principals know they have bad ass kids going to their schools and they can't suspend or expel them all or the school would have no students so they do nothing about it.teach got ratchet with it.
gotta learn how to check that shit.
first, call security, then leave the classroom.
