I dont 100% agree but it IS a necessary evil.
It has been reported by the end of 2006 they will have installed over 2000
of these cameras throughout the city as a means to combat crime.
Most folks will say thats "fucked up" big brother is watching, or have
issues as far as privacy is concerned. Not me I seen the effects of gangs
and crime in my former city.
I witnessed murders up close and personal, had my car stolen several times
watch drug dealers roam the corners as if it was legal and attended atleast
13 funerals from 1988-1995. Look at the numbers Chicago has had over 430
murders and thats a record low......WTF?
I think the record high was like 1024 and for years Chicago averaged well over 800, so these cams must be working.
I will not sit up here and act all high and mighty with the "lock em all" up
mentality but those that ever lived in Chicago, knows that it is NOT
a safe city especially on The West Side and in the Wild 100's
(pronounced Hunneds)
There is a gang presense in every hood throughout the city
whether its GD's, BD's, Vice Lords, Latin Kings, Black Stones, El Rukn's
4 Corner Hustlers, MC's or whatever these cats will kill your mother
and go to the wake.
