One of many elite athletes who never got a title but was the standard bearer on the north side of Chicago at 2nd base for well over decade during his playing years. RIP.

Grew up watching WGN so I caught more than a few Cubs games, even though I was in Cleveland. RIP
This. I grew up in eastern N.C. and our cable had WGN. It reminded me that there was a world outside of my small town. I also had a crush on Allison Payne (RAW and R.I.P.)

Lifelong White Sox fan here, but there was always love and respect for Ryno. He was a monster of a player. He and Roberto Alomar were the greatest second basemen I ever saw. I always appreciated how after he became a Hall of Famer, he fought hard to get Andre Dawson in as well. He'll be deeply missed.

Loved 2nd base because of him, didn’t have the savvy to play Shortstop so it was 2nd and Centerfield for me. Dude was the shit.
